MSI will release a 30 Anniversary Edition of the GeForce GTX 1080. To celebrate this fact MSI has teamed up with a liquid cooling specialist and designed something really special. The card will be EK... MSI Working on GTX 1080 30 Anniversary Edition (photos)
I already thought of DYI with a Predator 240. Unluckily it can't be mounted on the bottom of the case without adding an external reserve because of pump position.
That's a beautiful block! Also it would be great if they released it just with the block but probably it will be available separately from EK anyway.
I dont get it... The chip simply does not offer much oc headroom, elaborate expensive cooling is not going to change that. The 2100 speeds are few a far between.
It looks fantastic, but yeah, performance wise it's definitely an overkill. An anniversary setup like this would go better with a 1080Ti though.
despite limited OC headroom this might sell okay i bet MSI will selling this in limited quantity anyway all depends on the price if this all about same to buying ek predator + 1080, then it might sell okay this card must be custom pcb anyway
I do not watercool for just OCing. I watercool because of how quiet it is and because it lowers the heat inside the case. WCing for a higher OC is just the nice extra.
Aaaaand still dual- slot card, are you friggin kidding with me?? or is nvidia and its AIB are just being a**holes or simply stubborn???!!! also a question to the editor : do you think there ever will be a kingpin 1080 single-slot card edition? seeing how late the classified version is and also that the titan XP has been released already, just wanted your thought & speculation. thnx for the awesome content as always.
Stunning looking block and very neat. Phanteks should learn from this. We don't need wires hanging out the block all in the name of RGB!
