Is there any way to stop the offset voltage from changing the 2d voltage? -100mV is fine at load but at idle it freezes (0.750mV). I tried checking force constant voltage but it does nothing.
    My bios is 015.041.000.000.003435 (113-C3865000-O77).
I've tried changing voltages in VBE7 but anything below 1.144 crashes at load and setting it to 1.144 from the default 1.2 doesn't seem to do anything (same power consumption). I've tried a few different BIOS's but all of them either crash at load or have no effect on voltage.

Nope. Offset control is applied to all power states at once.

Oh, that sucks. Will there ever be an option to specify an exact voltage rather than this terrible offset thing that's currently in place? It wouldn't be so bad if I could edit the voltage in the BIOS...

That "terrible" offset is the only proper way to go because core voltage is no longer static.

Is there any way to get -150mV or even -200mV?

I tested with wi4,30,8d,18 and the voltage doesn't actually increase nor does the slider show +150mV. What exactly is supposed to happen?

I did. This is what I've tried:
    + wi4,wi6 (even wi1, wi2, wi3, wi5, wi7, wi8, just to see...)
    + beta 17,18
    + /wi4,30,8d,(10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18)
    + /wi6,30,8d,(10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18)
    + "C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner\MSIAfterburner.exe" /wi4,30,8d,10
    + "C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner\MSIAfterburner.exe" MSIAfterburner.exe /wi4,30,8d,10
+ With and without extend official overclocking limits
+ Unofficial overclocking mode disabled, with powerplay, without powerplay
+ Force constant voltage checked and unchecked

Does this command even work with R9 280X or is it just for R9 290(X)? Or am I missing something really obvious?

Edit: Found a thread from 2009 explaining the command, so I was able to use the correct values and it now works.

I have done this for my MSI R9 280x however memory volts are not being read in monitor, just shows 0000v. However I can adjust memory volts through the slider.

Gpu voltage is being monitored and shown

You need to use the correct values for your card.
First run 'MSIAfterburner.exe /I2CD'. Once you have the dump find the big block of hex values and the I2C bus/probing device they are under. Mine is IC2 bus 6 probing device 32.

My target is /wi6,32,8d,(then whatever value you need)
    wi(IC2 bus),(probing device),8d,

Which means that there is no MVDDC controller. Memory voltage control is available on limited set of models.

Yeah already done that. My correct values are wi6,30 but i cant find the voltage register. We have different voltage controllers.

Ah damn, that means there's probably no point increasing the slider then

    Cheers anyway

Is there any reason why I can't go beyond 1.88volts? and it's at +100 in msi afterburner :(

    Hello,

First of all thank you Unwinder for the solution :) I happily undervolted my MSI cards by 100 mV.
In my rig I also have one Gigabyte oc rev 2 card. Is there any tweak to unlock its voltage control? When I did i2cd switch, unfortunately there was no valid device on this card.

hello, i still get no vgpu change with the VEN_1002*.cfg workaround and new MSI card. I don't have the post count to link images yet.

    Bios Version is 015.042.
Temperature is still the same. The card is a V277-067.

Its getting hot in here, so what can i do? Waiting for new AB beta?
