Hello I have just bought an MSI R9 270x Gaming 2G and I get this stuttering (I only have one card, no crossfire) when I play Battlefield 4 and Call Of Duty Ghosts when my fps is 40 to 60. The graphics run smoothly for a few seconds and then there is a few stutters and then it runs smoothly again for a few seconds and then stutter and so on all the time. Battlefield 3 runs more smoothly but sometimes it also stuttering alot, especially in the in jet fighter mission. Sometimes Battlefield 3 runs very smoothly and other times it also stutters, but Battlefield 4 and COD Ghosts always stutter. I have updated my vga bios and motherboard bios and I have tried both the newest drivers and some older ones and it is the same. MSI tech support said my system should get a core of 5000 in 3DMark Fire Strike and I get 5431 and there is no stuttering in any of the 3DMark tests, so that part is seemingly working okay. Does anyone else have this problem and does anyone have a solution? My specs CPU: Core i7 2600 MB: Asus P8B75-V GPU: MSI R9 270x Gaming 2GB PSU: Spire 550 watt OS: Windows 7 64 bit Thanks Phazer1980
What psu is that? Update your directx files in the BF4 folder and unpark your cpu cores. Let us know how it goes. Also, would you be willing to go to Win8.1 x64 for BF4?
My GPU temperature newer goes above around 51 C. I have made a a custom fan profile in MSI Afterburner with much higher fan speeds than default. I have tried updating DirectX but it says that I have the newest version. I would prefer not having to update to Windows 8/8.1 and make it work on Windows 7 if possible.
Phazer, did you update the directx files in the BF4 FOLDER? Just it would make it alot faster in Win8.1, but yeah, Win7 should do too. 8.1 is alot more optimized and (tbh) better than Win7. Unpark your cpu cores. Download it here: http://www.coderbag.com/Uploads/Unpark-CPU-App.zip Check status, unpark all, close, reboot - play.
How do I update DirectX files in the BF4 folder? Aren't those files shared between all apps (Dynamic Link Libs)? And what about COD Ghosts that also stutters and BF3 that occationally stutters? Do I need to unpark my cores and reboot before every run of the game?
No not every time, you just unpark em once and that's it. The files are located at: BF4/_Installer/directx/redist -> dxsetup.exe
Hmmm Im not getting any problems with dual 270X and im running Msi too. I'd say an overheating problem too.
I unparked my cores using that utility and now I can't see any stuttering during gameplay. It could be that it is one of those times where there is not a lot of stuttering, but I as I remember there was always a little stuttering before and now there is none. BUT I still get a lot of lag in the cutscenes, why is that? Aren't those just prerendered video files being played?
