Makes me wish I had rewarded XFX instead of MSI when I purchased my Reference Vega 56 last October.

If the card performs as expected with no issues, does it really matter who it came from?

In this case, yes. However, I normally prefer purchasing XFX stuff when AMD cards are concerned anyways. MSI just will not be getting my money going forward, no lose to them though.

XFX warranty is unbeatable and so isntheir RMA process.

And for me MSI fans die about as fast as Asus does.
I was pretty disapointed with my MSI R9 290x Gaming but myR9 290x XFX DD Black Edition was awesome.

You do have a point about if it works, why does it matter.

But for some they have their reasons.
For now Ill be sticking with sapphire, XFX and now ASRock.

I wasn't referring to future purchases. Just the Vega 56 card you mentioned in the previous post.

My only AMD based MSI card had a reference cooler when I got it. It got replaced within a couple weeks of receiving the card. I've never had an issue with cooling fans on MSI cards failing though.

Thats how my Fury is. But the 290s did not have that feature. That came with the 390 refresh.

But my XFX 290s were cooler, overclocked better, had unlocked voltage, and looks alot better.
The MSI 290x looked exactly like GTX 770 Gaming so it wasnt anything that stood out for me. Even with a repaste it would push 80c at 80% fan speed in BF1.
I had to put an AIO to keep her cool. My fury pushes only 63c @ 40% fan speed.

@sykozis I hadnt had issue with MSI fans myself, but 2 of my friends did with their 290 and also when they had their 6970 twinfrozers.

The best vega card cannot beat the best Nvidia card hence why Vega is called subpar. You disagree that Vega is not as good as 1080ti?

Why does that matter? They compete at various price points. It's like saying every car is 'subpar' compared to a Koenigsegg Agera RS because they don't go as fast.

Reality is that they are sub par compared to Nvidia, nobody can argue that. Reality also is that they sell them because they do sell. Saying they shouldn't sell them if they think they're sub par is hilarious, they're in a business and will sell you a crock of sh1t if it makes them money.

The definition of sub-par is below average (look it up on Google). A product not being the best does not make that product sub-par.

In 1st place, what does performance has to do with this? Because if it does, then no nVidia GPU under top one should have gaming names...

Yeah, what does performance to do with anything when we're talking about gpus? Right?

Did you even read post I quoted for reply? Or are you just mentally challenged? (Quite sure you are subpar by definition Warrax has in mind and you like so much.)
