According to a recent leak from B&H Photo Video, MSI's AMD 600-series pricing does not drop below $199 USD. There are now seven brand-new AMD B650 motherboards available at this store, each with ... MSI B650 prices begin at 199 USD.
199 buys you a good z690 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/mc...-atx-lga1700-motherboard-z690-extreme-wifi-6e
I got 15 months ago the MSI b550 mortar wifi for 143 euros .... Vrms are enough for even a 5950x .... After we add vat etc the price will land roughly at double :/
I remember the times when buying hardware parts for a new computer one needed to spend considerable amounts of money. After that, each generation of hardware was better and cheaper. But now, we are going back full circle , new hardware is more expensive than previous generation? Yeah, I am aware of all factors and things that possibly affect prices, but still.
well, it was significantly better at least. now it seems even amd is entering the 2014 intel phase, with 5775c L4 cache on z97 ddr3 being faster than 6700/7700 z170 ddr4
Wait i minute, i was told that the b650 boards were supposed to be the budget option... So, who lied to me?...
plenty of good ddr5 if you wish https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JJ...x-atx-lga1700-motherboard-z690-aorus-elite-ax https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qnwypg/msi-pro-z690-a-atx-lga1700-motherboard-pro-z690-a ddr5 and ddr4 boards cost the same basically you know that first gen ddr5 boards won't even be compatible with the real fast ddr5 once it matures ? ddr3 started at 2133/4400, now 4400 is cheaper than those were in the early days, but no x370/z170 board/skylake/r1000 cpu will run them.
Welcome to the times where budget option is the new(old) enthusiast level, as price goes. Say goodbye to old fashioned budget price bracket, welcome to the new norm.
amd has no budget options for r7000, neither for cpus, nor mobos, nor ram. I mean they are there, but they're sold as enthusiast now, with price premiums, like 4080 12g
199 freedom coins plus tax plus import tax plus whatever tax they think they need to put on top. So starting at 245€ for a basic mb. I was not intending to upgrade but f*ck me these are f*cked up prices.
x670 non-e started at 350eur for the bare minimum features with a fancy gaming name and yet people expected b650 to be under 150e, delusional. 250eur at least. I thought about getting am5 for longevity reasons, but with those crazy entry level prices for 7600x and b650 and no ddr4 option, hell no. I do appreciate the longevity so the am5 option isn't over yet, but maybe later, once ddr5 matures and zen4 gets a price cut,so no sooner than 2024 probably.
You get b650 now you'll be able to run zen5 cpus so amd longevity is legendary. Thats is the reason to go with amd. With intel you are at the end of the road and if you get ddr4 board your basically outdated already.
legendary longevity for legendary premiums, checks out. I'll be able to buy another overpriced six core in the future, great. lol, outdated ddr4 vs your super new ddr5 https://www.purepc.pl/test-procesor...szy-porownanie-w-grach-i-programach?page=0,53 read the whole review and see how 12700k ddr4 does vs 7700x in a real cpu test, cpu heavy games in cpu heavy locations, not HUB bullcrap game choice where the slowest i3 does 150fps so that r7000 can do +200. scenarios where that same 12100 struggles to hit 60 https://www.purepc.pl/test-procesor...szy-porownanie-w-grach-i-programach?page=0,51 late ddr4 will only be outdated by late ddr5,which first ddr5 cpus and boards won't support anyway. same thing happened on ddr3. skylake was only really faster on ddr4 in comparison to 2400 c10 ddr3 with +3600 ddr4, and 5775c was faster than both, same as 5800x3d is now.
