you add to the file , then set the value you want .
He says place new line under OSD section [OSD] of the global file .

Afterburner crashes at Videorecording tab when this codec is chosen.

But I can record with it perfectly fine. (AB saves that I've chosen this codec before it crashes - so I restart AB and dont go at video recording tab and tried a record - works perfectly fine.

Why the GUI does crash though?

DXTory doesnt, other software doesnt. Only the GUI of Afterburner at tab "video recording".

So I assume its a bug of AB with this codec for whatever reason.

Would be nice if you could fix it somehow - the codec seems to be quite good.

Screenshots / Video capture files not created

    Hi

using MSI AB v3.0.1.2390 (auto-updated), trying to capture screenshot or video result in no files being created in configured directories. When doing screenshot, I see the little overlay message about scrrenshot being taken, when starting capture, the capture indication starts blinking, however pressing hotkey again does not make it to stop.

Looking at ProcessMonitor (technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx) to see what involved processes (MSIAfterburner.exe, RTSS.exe, RTSSHooksLoader64.exe and EncoderServer.exe) do when pressing hotkeys, I see AB process only trying CreateFile operation with Path that I've configured as target folder for capture files (failing with NAME COLLISION result but that's fine since folder exist already). But no other file operations within target folder.

    Any ideas ?

    GPU0: MSI N770 TF 4GD5/OC -> DVI -> Main LCD monitor
GPU1: Intel Core i7 integrated HD Graphics 2000 -> DVI -> Secondary LCD monitor
    Latest drivers.

MSI AB v3.0.1 can't capture screenshots/video on desktop, but it is workign well in games. The older versions did not have this problem so i was able to capture video from the desktop.

Have a look under the i-Button which 3D processes are running in the background.

Would it be possibel to add fan suport for the Gigabyte R9 295 x2. I purchased one and immediately noticed their was no option for fan control, period, Also the new LCD layout for the G19s is terrible. Black fonts that can't be resized properly just don't look good at all on a white background and are even harder to read. The new addition of being able to switch to a linear readout for the keyboard was good, but one has to be careful not to pick too many options for what to monitor. After all, who is going to hit esc mid game just to have to use the scrolling keys on the keyboard to get at the info you need if you choose not to install RTSS along side Afetrburner for OSD. Then there's the fact that the latest beta won't read the usage on both GPUs. Only GPU 1 is able to be monitored. Hope I haven't pissed you off about what I've noticed. But that's what this forum is for. To report bugs and ask about possible software upgrades.

RTSS is blocking Steam overlay in both Metro Redux games.

This is normal, as the game is 64-bit, the OSD compatibility is not done yet.

Just downloaded AB4b9 and it constantly crashes, no reason, just quits. have in on a stock profile, only the graphs on screen. do not monitor cpu cores in graphs. rtss in background and not in use(turned off) Fx8120, Sapphire dual x 7950 OC 925hz model. GA990FXA UD3 board. all boxes checked in gen tab and not using capture at all.not sure why it crashes. Have used AB years and years with no trouble ,once 5yrs ago.rtss and ab have been stable till this.

I'd like to report a few .exes that are erroneously detected as 3D applications, in case you want to add them as defaults (Application detection level: none) in a future version:

    • ApCent.exe - Gigabyte AppCenter, a motherboard utility
    • AsusAudioCenter.exe - ASUS Xonar settings application - starts automatically with Windows
    • Handbrake.exe - Video transcoding software
    • mumble.exe - VOIP client
    • SBXFIMB3.exe - SoundBlaster X-Fi MB3, audio software that came bundled with my motherboard, can be used with any audio adapter - not just Creative ones
    • thermald.exe - part of Gigabyte System Information Viewer (SIV), a motherboard utility

I'm running MSI Afterburner 4.0.0 Beta 9 with RTSS 6.1.3.
