Can't change core voltage for my Asus GTX 780 Strix, slider is disabled (unlocked voltage control already). Works fine in Asus GPU Tweak and Precision X so the card is not locked - lots of other drawbacks with those tools though. Using latest driver (340.52 WHQL).

    Some other setting I'm missing?

    Thanks

It's not ASUS Afterburner, it is MSI Afterburner. :nerd:

    Info for Unwinder:

When Afterburner 3.0.1 is running, the game "Wolfenstein: The New Order" can not be closed properly. When you chose "Exit to desktop" the game is just freezing and has to be killed via TaskManager.

When Afterburner is not running, the game closes without a problem. Several people confirmed this. It's an OpenGL game by the way.

    Cheers, S.

MSI Afterburner supports voltage control only on AMD/NVIDIA cards that are:
    1) any manufacturer's reference cards (including semi-custom cards with the reference circuit board design but custom cooler); and
    2) MSI custom cards.
Your card is an Asus custom one, so voltage control is not supported.

All other functions except voltage control should work on all AMD/NVIDIA cards (although as a side note, mobile cards are not supported, but might still work).

Sure! But in Guru3D's review of ASUS GTX 780 DirectCU ll OC overclock was performed using MSI Afterburner (can't post links yet, but it's on page 26 of the review - core voltage slider modified to max value), and my GPU is pretty much the same card, but with 6GB instead of 3GB.

    Anyone else?

Happened to me too. You have to set detection level to none in RTSS.

GPU may be the same, is the VRM the same, too?
If there is another chip on the board for voltage regulating, then it may be unsupported.

Seems to be same VRM. Both are using DIGI+ VRM with 10-phase Super Alloy Power. Reference GTX 780 is 6 phase with analog IC GPU PWM design.

So ASUS GeForce GTX 780 DirectCU II OC is not reference design, but apparently it works to change core voltage in MSI Afterburner. And STRIX-version seems to be using the same VRM as 3GB-version. Hence it should also work fine with MSI Afterburner?

if it is the same it should work, but there is no guarantee. Only non reference cards from msi are supported (besides all reference cards).

I think the mention of "msi-afterburner" is not for the program, but the forum user. And afaik Unwinder is not the user msi-afterburner.
