Abnormal CPU usage for RTSS.exe has been reproduced and being investigated. Thanks for reporting it, everyone.
One more known issue, which is also under investigation now, is MSI 7970 Lightning startup issue. 3.0.0 may refuse to start on those cards.

On high RTSS.exe CPU load issue:

Those who experience it may try to restart RTSS.exe. The issue seem to affect the very first server run only on my system.

High RTSS.exe CPU load issue has been investigated and fixed. It was a resource leak in Direct3D initialization during precaching DirectX info on the first server startup.
As I said before, it affects the very first server startup only, so until we release a fix just restart the server after running it in the first time, and it will work fine.
I guess I'll investigate 7970 Lightning startup issue then we release new beta with fixes (no new functionality, just fixes).

MSI 7970 Lightning startup issue has been investigated and fixed. It was a compiler related issue in folmula translator, some other triple temperature monitoring capable MSI cards could be affected.

Temps didn't change, formula translator is broken so no proper temperature correction is being applied on triple temperature monitoring capable cards.

Right that explains it. One good thing i did notice is i seem to be able to run my overclock with one setting lower of voltage with this version. Does that sound right or am i just seeing a placebo?

Placebo. It cannot depend on AB version, actual clocking is performed inside driver, AB is just passing desired values to it.

This isn't the case for me.

I originally saw the issue and restarted RTSS and for about 2 seconds the load was normal but went right back up.

I have rebooted the PC and all, still jumps up.

Hopefully it's fixed with your same fix though.

RTSS becomes unresponsive and freezes whenever I try to change the font, or color palette and I have to restart the process.

Those are standard OS color / font selection dialogs, seriously doubt taht it can depend on RTSS, sorry.

Yeah, I know. My issues with RTSS could be related to the high CPU usage reported earlier, as when I rolled back to AB version 2.3.1 it works just fine, and they share the same version of RTSS.

I'm having the same problem here, RTSS.exe still utilizes ~35% CPU despite restarting it.

Afterburner (beta 6) doesn't show in the taskbar after resuming from sleep mode. Windows 8.

Beta 6 with RTSS.exe high CPU load and 7970 Lightning startup issue fix has been sent to MSI. No ideas when they upload it.

Not confirmed, and furthermore it is not up to applications to do anything special to "show" in system tray afterresuming.

As soon as someone in MSI wake up, digitally sign the installer and upload it to server.
