Tried switching to Chrome at the weekend, I lasted half a day before coming back to FF

Looked hopeful at first, but after loading up the same extensions as I use for Addons in FF, things started going downhill, nowhere near as good

And it seems to render the text of sites weirdly too, like as if it squashes the text vertically slightly

I have tried switching to Chrome 5 times at this point, it last maybe 3 days before i say no, and mostliy cause of how Chrome Handles Deleting cookies/data on exit, Which is it dont clear it on exit it clears it on restart. which to me is a no no. then there is the lack customization it has, and fact it makes you go threw hoops to do the first thing i mention anyway.

Google/Chrome dont want you to delete your history cookies/data etc which why it not simple and straight forward. maybe they changed there ways since i last tried.

It's definitely better than it was last time I tried it, maybe 2+ years ago, but nowhere near FF, it's faster, but feels fragile and addons (extensions) suck big time vs FF's addons

Little things as simple as the speeddial addons, with FF if I want to switch tile 3 with 8, easy, drag and drop and they switch places

With Chrome, it rearranges every tile between them too, making it near impossible to set them up in the order you want

And the rest of the experience is more or less the same, awkward

Fantastic content filter Add-on for Firefox:

    ProCon Latte Content Filter

    ...which (qoute from dev's description):

"...ProCon can filter any kind of material (pornography, gambling, hacking, cracking, etc...), it can also block all traffic, making sure that only desired websites (those in the whitelist) can be accessed. It also includes a profanity filter....".

Great Add-on for those with little kids or somone else who shouldn't expose his eyes and mind with all kinds of nasty things while surfing the web, you can protect changes on this Add-on with password...

Recently friend of mine asked me to find something, some free software or whatever, which could block internet access or searches related to porn material, porn sites etc. on computer for his brother, young kid with special needs. So I did a bit of a research about this and found this Add-on for Firefox, this great Add-on is doing it's job more than fine.

For my kids I'm using Kaspersky Internet Security for years on all of their gaming or HTPC's, it's Parental Control is fantastic KIS sub-component and haven't found anything that could come close to this. But this ProCon Latte Content Filter is close to KIS's Parental Control, although not that powerful (but it's free unlike KIS) but still really very useful and configurable.

Also did a bit of a research for something similar for Google Chrome (ProCon Latte Content Filter doesn't exist for Google Chrome) but haven't found anything as powerfull as ProCon Latte Content Filter. Anti-Porn Pro for Chrome is close, but still not close enough, by default still it can't block sites like http://www.yes.xxx/?s=tags ...and few others.

Yep, Greasemonkey Add-on + Userscript version of YouTubeCenter Developer Version is working just fine, I've been using that combo for few weeks and not a single problem.

Gonna update first post about that since latest YTC Dev *.xpi is not working anymore (even forced via about:config) since FF 44.0 iirc and Developer doesn't have a plan to rewrite complete Add-on to meet Mozilla's new standards i.e. to get that YTC Dev version signed.

Sometimes it's so painful to watch someone using YT without YTC :)

I wasn't gonna move from FF43 unless I could use YTC, pleased I found the greasemonkey version :D

Yea, and coming soon, there will be no disabling signing for addons in FF at all

    FF46 I think

    Anyone notice that FF/CF 45.0.2

Has cpu usage spike so long as mouse is moving they spike in usage make Videos slow down soon as mouse stop moving usage spike drops and videos that were going slow go back to normal speed

Already tried safe mode and new profile, or is it 364.72 nvidia drivers causing this? dont feel like going back to 361.91 again cause went back and forth 5 times between the 2 trying find the cause to another bug.

No one else noticed just sitting on blank page and open FF/CF its exe in task manager it at .5 ~1 % but soon as you start constantly moving the mouse task manger the exe cpu usage spikes? as mine jump to 5-7%, cant be video drivers cause it did it on 361.92 and 364.72

Or has it FF/CF always done this and i never noticed it??

Also is anyone have issue with Flash? ( 21.0.0.197 )

watching this video IF i move my mouse constantly over the video it come to crawl the video and turning HW acceleration off has no effect

Which? cause I think the CPU spike when MOUSE is moved constantly inside a programs window is TIED to windows 10 or maybe nvidias drivers?

And I think the Videos coming to crawl when mouse is moved over them is Flash bug in current verison.

I had the Toady the dev of cyberfox trying to debug CF cause he see it too on mulitple pc's but this happens in almost all program windows in windows 10 programs like AVAST/AIDA 64/File Explorer if you move mouse constantly in there windows there are spikes in the cpu usage for that program some alot more then others.

same video in IE and EDGE works fine though

DonĀ“t have a strenght (sick as a dog past 7 days) to crawl to some other PC at my house so I`ve tried above on some old HTPC hooked to FullHD TV near my deathbed: C2D E8500 E0@3.8GHz, Radeon HD 5570 1GB GDDR3@latest AMD Legacy Cards Radeon Software Crimson Edition Non-WHQL 16.2.1 (v.15.301.1901.0), Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit, official Mozilla Firefox 45.0.1 64bit...

On blank page at idle FF uses 0%, while moving mouse it jumps up to 2.4% at max.

While watching that video in High Quality in FF full screen or window it runs smooth as a silk with or without Hardware acceleration and with or without moving mouse. Tried at HD Quality without Hardware acceleration and it`s also smooth in window or full screen with or without mouse movement. But with Hardware acceleration video shutters A LOT doesn`t matter I`m moving mouse or not while FF CPU utilization sits between 1.5% and 5%, GPU utilization (GPU-Z) not going over 8% (mostly between 1% and 6%).

Buggy Adobe Flash Player if you ask me...

Maybe I`m gonna try tomorrow on some other rig with Win7 and/or some Geforce GPU, if able to get up from bed...

Could you post what version of Flash is used? I dont really care about mouse being moved inside program window cuasing a spike, it dont cause anything noticable. and this has probably always been a normal thing.

I think it the flash version I have as , I update my drivers from 361.92 to 364.72 and flash on the same day, and seeing I already test both drivers and happens. I thinking it flash.
