I wonder why they released 74.0.1?
To fix a couple of critical security issues, that were already being exploited.
Ha. I guess I asked for that. I mean. Why didn't they just add the fixes to 75?
I guess with them already being exploited, they didn't want to wait until they released 75 to plug em
After version 75 and horrible URL bar I rolled back to ESR, I am tired of useless and bad changes in the GUI, that's the reason I moved from Opera to FF...
I don't know what's up, but my browser went to hell after the last update, where my language bar disappears below my screen and when I attempt to save a url or file with a rightclick, a fullscreen window will block everything and I've to drag it to the bottom of my screen in order to save (most likely Wayland related), which means I once again have to fallback to x11.
Oh god that is terrible. Make it go away please
I had to reinstall the previous version and disable automatic updates.
I got all my stuff back but it does not remember my addon settings fml.
What part of ULR bar, the https stuff with the removal of www. ?
There are many changes you can make in about:config might be a disable option. I just turned off the new Mozilla service for new telemetry.
This guy has alot of tweaks for FF, I use the tabs below nav option, it may have options your looking for.
change these 4 options from: true ...to: false ...and old URL bar is back again:
Oh that's why the default-browser-action thing was popping up.
Curiously the task shows as never having been run though it was still created and the settings from Firefox itself has this data stuff disabled but that didn't stop it either.
Easy enough to just delete the task but I presume it will be auto created every time Firefox is installed or updated or at worst launched if manually installed but it's maintainable.
(Could also delete the exe itself I assume.)
EDIT: Other stuff in the article and also this bit
Beta channel as usual here, working fairly well but it keeps changing stuff around ha ha.
So the release notes don't really have much and the newest - 76? - beta build moved the clear download button for reasons and somehow that's confusing me ha ha!
(Eh I'll get used to it at some point.)
EDIT: Also stuff like this really should be opt-in and marked or clarified and also not opt-out or opt-out but you have to do these things and the other settings outright ignores this behavior.
Not the first time though.
I am tired about about:config.
Those options are already removed in the nightly 77 build. They've gotten so much negative feedback on this new megabar I really wonder if it'll stay.
And here I though I was the only one going crazy over the ugly URL bar, but thanks for the workaround while we wait.
I stopped using Firefox. I noticed my Firefox folder was over 1Gb in size. No idea why. It wasn't cache. Perhaps one of the two add-ons I had installed.
When new Edge came out I stopped using Firefox. I don't see any reason to use Chrome when there's new Edge with superior features. I can finally use Finnish spell checker again (it support spell checking two languages at once which is really nice). There's just too many little annoying things with Firefox.
Thanks, just updated
v76.0.1 now out, quick bug fix.
Anyone know how to change the color of the scrollbar on the right? It's so hard to see where small bar is without looking directly at it. I mean who thought grey on top of grey was a good idea?
