I would honestly love it if the Alien doesn't care... and making a statement of f***ing up everybody the same, no matter the gender, culture, skin color, sexual orientation, or w/e reason people use to divide and categorize. I guess, to the Alien, there's only one division: Kill or use to breed inside. Imagine the Predator hunting party coming in and noting "Okay, we have to seriously consider who we should hunt and why, because they got some new rules down there on Earth"....
That proper made me laugh . I read all the Alien books and tk be honest surpassed most of the films. The books that crossed into the Predator universe were also good. In the books, earth is eventually overrun by the Alien and it turns into orbit launched rescue missions for those still alive on the planet, now that would make a great film.
I just saw two movies that I enjoyed -- David Lynch's Lost Highway (1997) and a 2011 film called "Take Shelter" with Michael Shannon. Lynch's movies are very divisive and are perhaps niche in their appeal since they're sort of avant garde art films almost but I have a soft spot for nice looking "puzzle" movies. I'll say one thing Kubrick and Lynch know how to put nice looking images on screen. Lost Highway has some shots that made me just think "wow that looks nice". I like those sorts of movies "if" there's actually intent underneath all the symbolism and if there's actually a literal story/sequence of events to puzzle out. I don't think Lost Highway is as clean as Mulholland Drive after reading lots of analysis for it, but at least there is sort of a core story to parse out and I think I was able to work out the broad gist of it after the first watch, but there are definitely scenes that don't make sense to me. Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway have a great atmosphere I think, but I also get why these kinds of movies are not to everyone's taste: "Take Shelter" I really enjoyed too where its sort of a slow burn mystery you're trying to figure out til the last scene: https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/take-shelter-2011. But for a lot of people it seemed to be too slow which I can understand. The scenes with the dog in that movie were really sad. Michael Shannon seems like a great actor in what I've seen him in.
At least we'll always have the first two films The Alien Isolation game was also was pretty good even though I can't finish it since it's too scary for me But yeah, I don't know what's goin on with Disney they seem to be producing a lot of garbage lately.
Ive not even signed into my Disney+ account for ages, unless they pump out some new series of the better Star Wars spin offs il cancel, i find myself watching more You Tube content than anything now.
@Horus-Anhur I cant hit the like button enough. Litterly the only freaking movie I excited about to hit movies theaters. I will go see in theaters if played in states. Though last Godzilla movie and hell last movie saw in theaters was Godzilla 2000. Ignore Shin Godzilla cause I dont know what that was but did not look like the King. Still very sad they ditch Man in suit and Modeled cities for CGI imo that ruin the godzilla feel
i am generally a 80s and 90s movie fan, i love anything interesting that comes up while browsing and searching, last film i watched was , 1992 thriller Thunderheart with val kilmer., brilliant music score by james horner , absolutely brilliant film
Conan the Barbarian was my all time favorite movies growing up. The music by Basil in that movie is just epic on so many levels. The move overall was great and still is. Not so much the second one though it does also bring back a lot of Nostalgia. @ramthegamer I hope you've watched it!
hmm question. What 80s or 90s movie would you say REALLY holds up to today in terms of overall acting and filming because we all know 80s and 90s movies can be a bit cheesy. One of mine would be "the corruptor" with Cho yun FAT
I mean, Arnie did do well to participate in movies that actually built on the cheesy cliche, like Last Action Hero, and True Lies. Pulling out of "seriousness" on purpose made those movies actually timeless, imho.
not all 80 and 90s movies are cheesy, for example, a very good film that i really like is 1986 52 pick up with roy scheider, To Live and die in LA is great aswell
as i get older i noticed i watching more and more movies from 80 and earlier. I find them to better then most stuff that come out now. i also perfer real effect over massive amount of CGI Love the claymation movies effects
