A couple of movies I ain't gonna watch, NOT even IF my life depended on it, whether in cinemas or streaming, are Peter and Wendy (more like Wendy, and a useless Peter Pan) and The Little Mermaid. You'd have to hold me at gunpoint, then I might, just might, consider. Meanwhile, looking forward impatiently to Dune 2, the new Evil Dead Rise, The Flash and Aquaman 2 are on my 'maybe' list.
Yeah I remember it but ovs its a lifetime ago so can't remember any of it. Il see if its on Disney+ as its not on Amazon
Watched Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 and really really really enjoyed it... I rate it 10 out of 10. I want to see it again. Stay for end credits scenes, there is 2.
Went in expecting nothing came out thinking the movie had no right to be anywhere near as good as it was.
Started watching the new Avatar last night, about 45 minutes in so left it for the evening, its about four days long so il finish it during the week. Enjoying it so far, however the inclusion of some generic film industry misbehaving if well meaning children may start to grind on me.
Yeah I mean its crazy atmospheric and I have a good AV set up. Loved the first film, even if Sigourney Weaver does look like a dead horse.
As far as I remember Gareth Edwards comes from VFX, the visual effect he's getting are top notch. With a good script I believe it could be really interesting! Latest Avatar is half a movie, half National Geographic Sci-Fi documentary. It's beautiful, it's a unique experience, but the main story is boring, characters are boring, dialogues are boring,... Glad i got to see it in theater on a large screen, in 3D high framerate!
I watched the first Avatar in 3D with my sister, it was my first and last 3D experience... we both walked out of the cinema all woozy and strange feeling.... never again.
Only ever experienced it at a cinema to be honest, i was more conscious of the way things looks that actually absorbing the film if that makes sense.
Biggest waste of production budget: Watching "The Great Gatsby" with Leo DiCaprio in 3D. I do not have issues with watching movies in 3D, but I for one don't fancy putting glasses on top of my glasses, and usually, I don't see value added to lackluster movies just because they're in 3D. But that's just me, I guess a lot of kids really dig it.
Probably the same as watching in 1080p or 4k, some films really make the most of it and other not so much so, I watched Matrix 4 on UHD disk recently and it blew me away, and the sound is very good as well.
