Today I saw The Matrix Resurrections. After seeing some people talking really bad about it, I was expecting a lot worse. But at the same time, considering what came before it, it left a lot to be desired. For the most part, it felt like a fan made project by some youtubers, that managed to convince Keanu and Kate to participate. Almost every thing in this movie seemed like it was made by someone that watched movies and loves them. But has no experience in making them, so the result was just amateurish. The writing, the production, the fight choreography, the lighting, camera positions, cinematography, special effects, etc. It's like all was made by movie fans, with little experience. Maybe some film students, straight out of class. Then there is the casting, which leaves a lot to be desired. Especially the actors for "Discount Mr. Smith" and "Dollar store Morpheus". The story felt intriguing, and I found myself enjoying the overall concept of it. But the poor execution of most of it's concepts, dragged it down. And because so much was poorly written and executed, it felt more like a retcon, that a resurrection. It's not the worst movie I have ever seen. I enjoyed some parts. But I should have been much better. On the plus side, now I fell like re-watching the original Trilogy. Especially the first one.
Yeah, that's kinda how I felt (see previous page) - I did additionally think that, one way of watching it is to imagine you know absolutely nothing about The Matrix and the prior movies in the franchise...on that basis, does the film make the slightest sense at any point? The answer is "no".
Youtube is doing movies free with ads and some are pretty good especially is you're in the states, seems not all countries get this service tho, i watched the first airplane movie last night gonna see how the second is.
Today I saw "No Time to Die" and found it a disappointment. The story had some potential but it lacked a strong supporting cast. The new 007 Nomi is just annoying, she has no style, no class, no personality. And Safin in probably the most pathetic Bond villain I remember. His plan was cool and all, but Remi Malik interpretation was terrible. The only positive from this movie was the sequence with Ana de Armas. It was rather fun and quirky.
Best Girl... I didn't like the ending it was very not "James Bond".. I did like some of the action scenes though. I have no idea how they are going to continue from this, I very highly doubt the 007 lady will be leading the films in the future, I don't think that was the point of the character to be honest. Guessing they will go for a new much younger than before Bond to draw in a younger audience next time around.
Yeah, that ending was very lame. Spoiler: Movie spoiler Bond never died in previous movies, despite changing actors, there was a sense of continuity. I'm guessing the want to do some kind of hard reboot on the saga.
Turns out the full movie is already on YouTube and you don't need to use a vpn to watch it. YouTube big brain.
Looks like Dave had his "Pic of Destiny"-ish movie, with a bit of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" mixed in, reminding me at "Vampires in Brooklyn" somehow (I guess the cheeky teeth). Nice find.
Same here, Tom is the main reason I watched that saga.... he's crazy in his personal life but good actor
