Yep. I know many, who are still using 6x00 cards. 6800GT/Ultra are still pretty enough for most of gamers.

The most popular card can be some of the new ones, coz more people have pc's now than 10 years ago. The most sold card can allso be one of the low-end one's, which were sold in pre-build pc's.

If we can go back to times before TNT2, then I have to say 3Dfx Voodoo and Voodoo2.

They were the best, most popular and most loved gpus ever made I think.

Yeah I loved my Pentium 3 500Mhz + TNT2 combination. Those were the good old days, when the best GPU costed no more than $200 and the naming schemes were simple.
Also I feel that Voodoo3s and GeForce2s exhibited a special smoothness and lack of visual tearing that doesn't happen with more modern cards, even when playing the same games (Half Life, CS, etc)

yeah I had the same setup when mydad first bought a pc for home use {p3 500Mhz, Nvidia TNT2, PC100 128Mb RAM + 21" CRT} this setup here cost over 2k back in 1996-98. I no longer have my TNT2 as i traded it off for a ATi 9700Pro

but the cards I had throughout my life are as follows....

    Nvidia Riva TNT2 Pro 32Mb
    ATi 9200 Pro 128Mb
ATi 9600 Pro Advantage Edition 256Mb
    ATi 9700 Pro 128Mb
    ATi x850xt PE - 256Mb
    ATi x1800xt - 256Mb

I also have 2 Geforce MX2's (16 or 32Mb I think...cant remember) which I sneaked out of work one day (*what?! the systems were heading for the scrap heap anyway! Jezus H christ In a KFC chill out! the cards were luckyi got to them & literally stripped the system down to the cables b4 it hit the dumpster)

good times. TNT2 totally rocked my socks that beast could handle Unreal 2003 no problem f**king A!

+1 for 9800 Pro. and it wasn't too expensive. I remember paying $180 after MIR and the only thing faster was 9800XT.

Nope, they were popular when they 1st came out because the fx series sucked and nobody wanted one, so ATI dominated the market.
