as the thread title says,i'd like to know which is the most popular/best selling gaming videocard of its time...

lets start during the TNT2 era till today :D (and how much they cost during their heyday)

im thinking it could be the ti4200? the 6600GT? here where i live though, the 9550s (the GEcube 9550 EE/XT to be exact) is i think the most popular among gamers (till last year)

    It is surely FX5800 Ultra.

Ok... Maeby Voodoo3, TNT2, GF4Ti4200, Radeon 9600Pro or 6600GT. 9600Pro was card which many had here.

Yeh, I was joking :) It really can be toss-up between Ti4200 and 6600GT.

Hey, wait a sec... Do we forget Intel and integrated gpus? Those have been sold much. Few years backwards Intel sold more gpus than Nvidia or ATI. Not sure how it is today...

Hmm, I'd have to go with the 9800Pro/XT of course. ..........Ugh, can't think of any others lol.

Its got to be the Geforce 3 Ti200, god I love'd that card. Such a big jump from the Geforce 2 range.

lets limit the choices to post TNT2 cards (AGP or PCI-e) so no integrated solutions :D

I agree with Sash's list, except replace 7400 with 7600.

What about the 6300's that dell ship with most of their multimedia PC's that's gotta be a hell of a lot, however i don't think most of those customers used their PC for gaming.

7400 is Laptop based card so i guess he must have mistyped and instead meant the 7600

More recently, i think the 6600 is an obvious choice, with the 9700 being the card to have before it.

    Geforce 256 and Geforce 2

Geforce 3/4/Ti were popular but not on the massive scale of the first two cards in my opinion.

Also, the TNT2 was quite a popular one in its day. I had two of them..

Other then that, I'd say the bigger models were:

    9600Pro
    9600XT
    9700Pro
    9800Pro
    6600GT
Fx5200 (despite its patheticness, this one was hugely popular with dell and hp etc)

Nowadays I think the 7600Gt is getting there as a hugely popular mainstream card.

    6600GT 128mb...I had one..It was a amazing card at the time :)

    I went from FX5200(£50) ---> 6600GT 128MB(£120) ---> 6800GT 256MB(£220)----> ATI X800Pro 256MB(£180)---> Sapphire X1950Pro 512MB(£150)

GFX cards have got cheaper over the years :)
