Most hyped over game that disappionted you

for me it'll have to be the original stalker. i figured it was about time i played it, so i went out, brought it, brought the sequel to it. and started playing it.

my god it was horrible, every so often i died to what i like to refer to as "wtf was it this time" the gun play was bad, the ridiculous way the radiation worked to keep you confined to an area killed you instantly, no autosave/ quickload.

played it for a week, didnt get far, returned both games to the store.

 

yeh stalker was a waste of my time,effort & cash aswell.

 

Halo. It was originally meant for the Mac and I was really looking forward to it, then it became an Xbox exclusive when Microsoft took over Bungie. When it finally made it to the pc it ran like ass and none of the cool ideas that were outlined in the development stage made it through to the final version. Definitely not worth the wait.

 

Halo 1 and 2 (haven't played third)
Didn't really have much fun with either Half life either (but its far better than Halo IMO)

A more recent game: FarCry 2. Potential is there, but that ain't enough ..

Perhaps themost overhyped game is still Hellgate: London

-To short, incredible unrealistic, no AA support serie 7xxx and low.

Crysis Warhead :

Far Cry 2 felt reall strange - all the guns feel like they do little-to-no damage and everyone has natural bullet resistance. I must say I liked the original Far Cry much, much better.

 

Farcry 2: respawning enemies ( just turn your back, & poof, they are back), bulletproof africans, jamming weapons (only when you use them), bad story & extremely repeti-tive

Also Assassins creed to some extent (repeti-tive)

 

SIMPLY : FARCRY 2 Bigest overhype i saw in years. Nearly legendary fail.

TES IV: Oblivion (total waste of Patrick Stewarts time), Fallout 3 (saw it coming), Far Cry 2 in some aspects, GTA IV (main missions only), and COD5.

 

Damn was it rly that bad ? I only played for an hour

 

bioshock.
I really wanted to like it. I really did. Wife got it for me as a present, she knew how hyped I was.
Graphics ? Check
Coolness factor ? Check
Plot ? Check

But for some reason, it didnt draw me in.
How many machines can I hack the same way? How many big daddies can I easily kill (STOOOOOPID big daddies ) ? Same little sisters . . .
it looked like a good movie, but dissapointed me game wise.

Far cry 2 also. same comments as above, wont elaborate.
Dead space for PC. If I want to play my computer drunk, thats my choice.
But to have the main character weave slowly and aim like a stoned one legged kitten, well, that pissed me off big time.

Bioshock - Total crap given the amount of marketing that preceded it's release. Played it for about an hour I think, then uninstalled it.
