nickelback - feelin' way too damm good .
The most mentioned above and:
Pantera - Suicide Note Pt1
Pantera - Suicide Note Pt2
Down - Losing All
Note: the lyrics in those songs are very...down, not the music.
There are many musicaly "depressing" songs in a lot of classic music and movie soundtracks, but there are too many to mention.
Simple Plan - Perfect
TuPac - Life goes on
Aries Theme from FF7
The Verve - The drugs don't work
samuel barber - barber's adagio for strings
final fantasy 10 - sky's theme
The Kelly Family - Mama
i dont know if adagio for strings is really a depressing song though everyones emotions will varrie to such a beautiful song. especially at the 5min 40 second to the 8min section of the 11min song.
It's a song to which no other song will ever compare. It would easily fit into a "Most beautiful Classical Song" thread..
Nice choice ^_^ well done Jogeta, Adagio for strings. a fine pick very nice.
sad song here
has to be
everyone hurts by REM
makes me think everytime I hear it!!! So I cant listen to it anymore!
2Pac - I Ain't Mad At Cha
Boys II Men - It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday
Yeah....from what I heard the song was originally supposed to be a Intrumental, and then Cliff died and they added that saying in at the end. He had said that once in a conversation or something from what i've read, also I think Cliff dying is the reason they don't write intrumentals anymore, but I dunno, it would be cool if they would do another, but its been nearly 20 years since their last one.
I think the reason Amy was on vocals in "Broken" from The Punisher soundtrack was mostly because of her fame due to Evanescence, and because she is dating Shawn Morgan and he asked her to record it with him.
Stone Sour - Bother
Very depressing but nice song.
err... bump, lol
Anything from The Cure.
Errr, i don't have a favorite depressing song, coz i really don't feel like listening to depressing songs in the first place. I usually listen to the 80's tracks, b'coz most of the artitsts at that time have some of the best vocals around the world. Some of my favorite songs;
1. George Michael - Careless Whispers
2. Richard Marx- Right Here Waiting For You
3. Meat Loaf- I'd do anything for Love
4. Michael Jackson- One Day In Your Life (i think this is the best song ever sung by M.J )
Well I dont listen to depressing songs either, but I do hear them from friends or on the radio or TV
Lol ok...want a depressing song? I'll give you guys some real stuff.
For some of the most depressing stuff you have to locate music made by a band named SWANS...a little known but hugely influential band (think of it as a band modern day bands listened to)
Song title: No True Angel
That is depressing....
my personal choice
get up kids - the most depressing song
3 days grace - drown
3 days grace - all the way
3 days grace - let you down
guess which cd i just bought?
its well done, if not a little too angry, which is good for modern rock, We need more good modern rock, or else we'll see the failure of the genre
Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush's duet called Don't Give Up takes top honors here.
Many others have been touched upon, but that song just seems to have a special sort of resonance for me. ( I found Adagio for Strings by S. Barger rather uplifting - isn't classical music grand?!)
