    Hello all,
Been a long time since I've visited this forum.

My monitor turns on and off randomly. Screen just goes black, sometimes for just a second, sometimes for longer, sometimes doesn't turn back on. Even in the splashscreen as it's booting up (and even in BIOS) it can do this. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes it "acts up".

I don't have a second monitor to test. Wondering what this is pointing toward. GPU? PSU? Monitor? Something else?

I should add that all temps are fine, I've reseated memory sticks and GPU, I've switched over from the HDMI cable to a DVI cable, and that this isn't happening when I'm running any demanding programs etc, it just happens randomly. Also, I've installed latest recommended drivers for my GPU.

    Thanks

    Try changing the cable.

    how old is the monitor?
could be also a power problem, a bad capacitor will give almost the same symptoms.

It's not new by any means. Like 7-8 years old.

I had a monitor that worked fine until it went to sleep and then wouldn't come back on until I restarted. I ended up replacing it as it was older as well.
