I jut bought a 23" Alienware Optx monitor that sits on my desk. Same old problem - the monitor stand isn't high enough and find myself slumping forward in my chair.

My old monitors all had round bases so I used to sit the stand on big thick books (which looked terrible but did the job) to raise the height, but this time the stand is more oblong.

What can I buy to put under the stand that will be safe and match the black of my monitor, case and speakers?

cut a couple pieces of wood, paint black, finish it, then you have a nice custom stand that you can re-use for any screen. That or make it out of metal. I just prefer wood work.
