Monitor restarts when rightclicking video-file

Every time i right-click a wmv file or other format, my screen blacks out and returns. It also happens when i delete a moviefile or hit the advanced button in the display-properties. I had this problem even with my old computer with a gt4200 in it. The problem first occured when i installed newer drivers on my 4200. Now i got a 7800gt and cant get rid of the problem. Anyone experienced simular problems? The monitor is a LG Flatron 915ft plus CRT btw.

This destroys "Play on my TV" right click functionality as a side effect, but you lose the monitor restarts.

The monitor still restarts when i hit the advanced button on the display-settings-tab though. U got a fix for that too ?

 

what do you mean it restarts? it flashes? all mine flash when i enter the nvidia display properties, so if that is all.. don't worry.. how can a monitor restart?

 

My 2nd monitor always blinks off when I went to advanced properties, on both Nvidia and ATI setups. I don't know of a fix for that.

Another problem I am not aware of a fix for at the moment is with Nview enabled, the 2nd monitor will blink off for a second when I right click anywhere on the desktop.

 

that one is odd, my setups only blink when i enter the nview properties, not just right click on the desktop, perhaps if you remove the desktop menu option as i did? and strangly enough, now when i enter the nview properties neither monitor blinked.. however i remember my tv blinking last night on my other setup when i entered the nview properties... running 81.85whql on both...

It is when i click the advanced button, and it loads the nview-tab when i do, so it seems everything is as it should be

 

My Viewsonic was doing that after i installed 81.85 and then i noticed the refresh rate was set higher than the manufacturers recommended setting. I turned it down and the flicker is gone.
