Modern Warfare 3 (Official Thread)

Apparently some old maps are on the disk or something, I heard Highrise, Crash and a few others, so expect them as overly priced DLC soon.

 

There already is a map that reminds me of Highrise and Crash, well... they already had that as DLC in MW2 (it's none of my favorite maps also). Where are Crossroads and Overgrown?
When I saw BF3 it reminded me of what the maps after CoD 4 were missing -> different time of day and weather. No rain, no fighting in the dark... I really miss that.

 

These MW3 threads should be called MW2.5 .. Its like everyone buying a new iphone.. Very small incremental changes.. Iphone 3G,3GS,4 4GS I like BF and COD,but BF3 rocks.. I won't get MW3,no reason to when I have MW2..

 

just like we should call the bf3 thread bc2.5 WITH JETS.

For people who don't want to spend alot on this game. Russian keys are really cheap, and it delivers English language now.
It didn't when the game was released, just set language to English.

 

Can anybody tell me why the CoD Modern Warfare 1/2/3 games don't have native Xbox 360 controller support? I understand some people prefer the keyboard and mouse, and I can understand why, but as a relatively new PC gamer I prefer a controller.

Mega Drive, Saturn, Playstation, Xbox, no problem, but a keyboard for running about for hours on end? Ugh...

It was a bit dissapointing to have bought MW3 for my PC to find I've gotta use the keyboard and mouse. I realised I was gonna have to try out X-padder, which I've never used before, since it simulates keyboard presses, the game reacts totally different from what it would on an Xbox or PS3.

Is there a good honest reason why somebody couldn't slip in controller support for the people who want it (like every other game)?

 

There isn't a single CoD on PC that has controller support.
The games don't feature huge graphical advantages over the console versions so they should have something else to stand out, right?

And although I ain't tried, I'd bet World At War does too. If removing compatibility with a control pad on what is more or less a console port gives it an advantage, I'll be damned. :3eyes:

 

You're right about Black Ops, my fault then WaW doesn't say anything about a controller though, neither on the box nor on the Steam store page. None of the MW titles has controller support also.
On the other hand it's the same with games like BC2 or MoH. It would have made sense to use a controller in these games to control the vehicles... but it doesn't work.

 

Yes WaW also supports controller.

 

MW2 supports controller, im certain of it. I used the black ops 360 controller for PC and it worked.

 

It didn't work for me. Maybe I missed something, or you were using Xpadder? I stopped playing it.

Its obviously an Infinity Ward thing.

So it works for half the modern CoD games, Rage, Portal 2, Crysis 2, Deus Ex, and many many other FPS titles. I can't see a good reason for Infinity Ward to keep excluding compatibility.

 

Is single player better than original?

 

@signex: Black Ops is the only one to officially support a controller though. I never actually tried it, can't stand the feel playing a shooter with a controller.

 

Call of Duty: Black Ops works with the Xbox 360 controller on the PC as that's how I played the game. Still didn't make it any good though.

 

Wasn't complaining on how easy it is. If I find it too easy I turn the difficulty up. Not to take more time <_<.

When people say CoD is easy they talk about the MP.

 

And if it never comes to PC nothing of value will be lost. Why do they even bother releasing the game on PC anymore if they just give us botched console ports?

 

Can someone please tell me how to change the fov using widscreenfovfixer?
my monitor is 16:9 @ 1920x1080 21.5inch
looking for 80 fov from default 65 fov

but i cant seem to get the thing working properly.
what settings do i mess with?
