Hy, i´m having trouble installing maxtreme 9, it doesn´t seem to recognize my max9 installation and the process stops with an error message. Anybody has any experience with it?. The readme says that you need Windows XP/2000 but it doesn´t specify if it is 32 or 64 bits.

    Thanks in advance.

I know, but i have a _modded_ 6800GT to Quadro FX 4000 so i don´t think that should be the problem, besides, the error message talks about the 3dsmax9 installation not being present (which is not the case), not about not having a Quadro card.

i just looked at the NVidia page and...maxtreme9 is D3D?? WOW! :eek3:

Maxtreme was the optimized OGL driver for a long time but in the last few years the standard D3D driver became even faster, more stable and with more quality than maxtreme itself.

So now maxtreme is D3D and not OGL anymore?! Anyone tested it with 3dsmax9? is it faster now than normal D3D?

I will try to install it tomorrow on my modded card and will report back if there are problems.

maxtreme is not 64 bit ready
the new version sucks ...crashes on new statistics-display
this happens on modded or real quadros and for everyone...

    maxtreme 9 setup does'nt finds 3ds max 9 install

I have the same problem with the 32 bits release.
All hardware conditions are meet. (quadro FX 3400, Win2000, 3dsmax 9)
my 3ds max 9 location directory is on the C:/ drive (c:\3ds max 9)
Is there a way to install the driver manually?

It´s the 64bit thing, there´s no powerdraft for Win XP64 either.

    sort of regression

I've tried the new maxtreme D3D in 3dsmax9

    My findings:

It seems that maxtreme9 D3D (3dsmax9) is a bit slower that maxtreme8 opengl (3dsmax8) but they are not doing exactly the same things (isoline on some objects on 3dsmax9 .. polygons on 3dsmax8))

    3dsmax9 D3D VS 3dsmax9 MAXTREME D3D ... there is not a lot of difference in favor of quadro/maxtreme !?

    Also I found that with maxtreme 9 we loose the nice feature of maxtreme 3 4 5 6 7 8 :

    look the screenshots :

alos i find that the maxtreme9 D3D get a better antialiasing for lines (thinner)

you just forgot to turn on anti aliasing line on your 3dsmax 8 setting thats why you're getting better lines probably and your setting are all set differently for each version so you really can't compare unless you set them all in the same settings.
