    I like Svends GL wrapper better for D2.
    I have no idea how you could chain it to dx7, and you probably won't be able to log onto battle.net

    Yeah I found the inventor's page but no links to anywhere. I assumed the sourceforge page was his but that was blank.

    I'll keep in eye out on your page for updates then, thanks.

    Edit: Excellent job on this but perhaps you should have pre-sharpening off by default. I only tested it on Super Street Fighter 4 AE but it caused horrible artifact on that.

    I think people should disable everything and enable one shader at a time instead, to see how it affects the game they are used with.
    For most games pre sharpening works out well.

    Source link almost at top.

    I just got the tool, tried SSAA but it's a bit slow and I keep on getting kicked by PunkBuster. If I disable all the settings like you suggested, how do I enable FXAA instead? Use some_dude's inject DLLs in the game directory?

    Pre Sharpening is too strong, it's pointless because you add antialising, artifacts and shimmering into the game. If you want this, you don't need FXAA.

    You have no idea what your talking about there. ;)
    Sharpening is fully adjustable, set FXAA to max quality, add slightly more of it than needed and cut of the blur with sharpening to have a clear image without jagged edges.
    It also depends a lot on which game your applying fxaa on, since it differs from game to game, hence why there is a settings file allowing you to adjust things.

    I mixed up float sharpen with pre sharpen. Float Sharpen was the pointless stuff.

    Oh you mean the post sharpening, that was added by the request of some users as an alternative to pre sharpening or to sharpen up the other shaders if they are set with heavy modifiers.
    I use it with a very low value to fix some UI text up in one game.

    I'm using Icenhancer 1.3 for GTA IV and it seems to include version 3.8 of Timothy's FXAA. Do you know how I could set the FXAA to maximum quality and how I could add sharpening to it?

    fxaa injection tools and files...need improving...in some games instead of aliasing they build jaggies and destroy details and brightness...(elder scrolls iv : oblivion for example)

    correct.

    You need to tweak

    // FXAA_QUALITY__EDGE_THRESHOLD_MIN
    // Trims the algorithm from processing darks.
    // 0.0833 - upper limit (default, the start of visible unfiltered edges)
    // 0.0625 - high quality (faster)
    // 0.0312 - visible limit (slower)

    // Set values to calculate the amount of Anti Aliasing applied
    float fxaaQualitySubpix = 0.60; // Default: 0.75 Raise to increase amount of blur
    float fxaaQualityEdgeThreshold = 0.133; // Lower the value for more smoothing
    float fxaaQualityEdgeThresholdMin = 0.0633; // Lower the value for more smoothing

    sharpen.h

    // Set values of the sharpening amount
    #define SharpenEdge 0.2
    #define Sharpen_val0 1.2 [higher value, sharper image]

    yeah.. MLAA works much better in oblivion though I use OBGE which gives you the ability to use MLAA, FXAA, DLAA, MDLAA and a whole variey of other filters for AO etc. and it's been around for quite a while so nothing new.
