Minecraft RTX beta downloadable from Thursday: full path traced ray tracing

I am going to grab this to play on my setup just for the nostagia of playing games from my Amstrad cpc 464 green screen days at 2 fps. lol

I'm not joking when i say that Minecraft is the only reason why i regret not having an RTX gpu.I don't even play it normally but if i had an RTX GPU i'd just play for hours with the different transparent/reflective materials from mods and stuff.

 

I hope for 1996 Hunter Hunted remake this game is great i still play it even on Win 10.

 

Actually looks really good. Would like to see it implemented into older titles, games like Half-life series.

 

Shocking drop in fps for such a simple game, imagine how that would run on Crysis 3 for example, 2 fps?
Frankly i don't even like the whole RTS concept, it looks like the entire seen was submerged in oil and then pulled out and left to dry, i only bought my 2080 TI for the 30-35% fps boost it provides over the legendary 1080 ti.
Thus far i have not enabled RTS on any games i played, soon as i see the option i leave it blank.

 

It's a shame they canceled the Super Duper Graphics Pack.

 

Wow, only 60-90 fps in freaking Minecraft at only 1080p on a 2080ti.

 

Not ashamed to say that I have never understood the attraction of Minecraft and I don't think I ever will. Every time I read up on it I find myself reminded of 'Those that can, do... Those that can't, play Minecraft'.

 

You know PTGI exists right? Runs on normal gpus. 4k is pretty playable on my 1080ti.

 

Can your 2080ti run minecraft at 60fps @ 1080p?

I hope next gen raytracing HW is more beefy

 

Someone explain to me why would anyone add raytracing to a game that looks worse than pixellated crap from 1992.

 

Because it improves visual experience?

 

To see a game (even Minecraft) running full path tracing and be playable is one hell of a feat. Didn't think I'd see it for at least another 10-20 years.

 

I thought this had been out for a while, I know it's been advertised on Nvidia's site for months.

Last time I checked the windows 10 store version, which iirc, is an older version based on mobile version but has controller support. I doubt it will be getting this update. So I now own the ps4, win 10 store, and original mojang version. Yet I suspect none of these will get this feature.

Tired of double and triple dipping on games only to get shafted on certain features.

 

But can it run Minecraft RTX?
