That's an insane percentage of one countries population. I mean my 5 year old son is nuts for Minecraft so i've had to by 3 or 4 copies amongst the different plat forms.
Did you manage to understand what it is that they like? my cousins where nuts too, so all the kids i know.

My kids adore Minecraft. I’ve bought multiple copies on a couple of platforms in order for them to play with each other and their friends. I tried it again yesterday, even in vr i just can’t get in to it
he loves building houses and exploring. It's pretty into games just like I am so it's partly my fault.
You know what this means? The architects of the future will be building houses that are blocky, and have zombie protection... ...that actually might look cool.

This. It's like an entire ocean went right past me. I mean I was always aware of its existence from very early on, just never actually played it or looked at someone else playing it more than 5 minutes. But when I look at all the youtube/twitch millionaires that raised their channels on it, not to mention the creator that became a billionaire over night, I'm like... well, damn.
Is there any proof to this claim ? 400m will be about 1 in 3 Chinese people, I just don't believe it. It also seems far too rounded a number also. Why not 427m or 385m etc. I'm calling bollocks !
Some would probably say something along those lines: China is the leading Minecraft Nation! 1/3 is playing, and the rest of the world is having a bit of fun as well. Kudos, I quit after less than 2 minutes.
