I know what you mean about the resources. Its much more difficult and challenging. I still play with my friends HOMM 3: Shadow of Death every month. And by play i mean a good 12 hours or so.
The demo has been out since august I think, maybe not on steam but it's been up for download since then.
well they made massive polygon models that will eat up recourses like crazy, but enviroment doesnt even look as good as homm5.. textures, shapes looks low quality. :|
The release day patch is now available via the auto updater at a little over 500 MB, will now soon what it fixed if there's a changelog.
this game along with Disciples are the only turn-based strategy games that I can tolerate lol. still getting the mouse cursor flickering with the update.
Bought this on a whim because I played HMM4 a long while ago. Turns out I really enjoy it . Then Steam had the sale on HMM5 so I got that (with all expansions and Dark Messiah which is totally awesome) as well. Good times.
i bought M&M VI mainly because the gameplay is similar to an all time favorite of mine "King's Bounty" and i wasn't disappointed, excellent game. i must say though that i prefer the graphics of King's Bounty because they're a little more cartoonish compared to M&M. edit - i couldn't force AA without having flashing textures or the game locking up. tried a few profiles in nvinspector.
http://might-and-magic.ubi.com/heroes-6/en-GB/news/details.aspx?c=tcm:21-25656&ct=tcm:6-231-32 Patch changes. (From the previous day-1 update.)
bought the game, played till i was asleep. damn such good game. what i was waiting for..but there is no AA..why?
Nothing much supports AA anymore because most engines use differed rendering. The FXAA injection that has been so popular around here lately will help though.
Oh yeah, been so popular on the forum I guess I forgot to link it. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=348097 The thread is pretty long, but the download links are on the first page. You should be able to follow the read me file within the zip. I tried this on the demo, and it worked pretty well, not as good as real multisampling, but much better than nothing.
This game really is amazing. I had to go away for a few days so I missed out on a lot of gamig, there are a few optimisation tweaks that are needed but gameplay wise it is pretty much perfect. Mouse flicking is another. The most anoying thing is that every time you save you have to click the ok button or whatever it is, you should be able to press enter to get rid of the message.
yeah mouse flickering is annoying. as this game got this point from a good beta as i read, interesting they didnt fix that
