This whole requirements thing is a complete joke.
Windows Update tells me my system doesn't meet the requirements for Windows 11, and suggests that I use PC Health Check to see why.
So I do just that, and PC Health Check tells me I'm good to go. Go figure...

I installed W11 on my Surface Pro 2 which isn't compatible as it only has TPM 1.2 an Intel 4200U. If I try the upgrade it complains about this and doesn't let me so I did a clean install form USB and it just let me install it fine with no roadblocks or warnings!

I expected something, even if it was a warning after windows was installed to let me know my system is incompatible. I hope they don't later on decide to start blocking updates/features because of this

In other words, Microsoft is practically sabotaging their own work and OS for the sake of appeasing all the peasants and their pitchforks screaming on the internet, no backbone what so ever. ONLY people with adequate hardware should be able to run W11, unfortunately MS and their management have become the world masters in mediocrity and compromise... What MS is doing is like, you can only enter thru the front door after security check BUT with the right connections and words you can also enter thru the back door, which defeats the purpose of W11. Over and out.

Leave it to MS to complicate the easy stuff, just like their recent OSes...

What's the point of having a restriction if you're going to tell people a convoluted way on how to work around it? How about just remove the restriction? That's like a politician teaching you how to legally avoid paying taxes.

Pretty sure some high execs behind Win 11 deployment and critical decision making are nervous it will be a flop and are scrambling to undo their stupidity. But in the process they are only revealing how stupid they are and that they cant escape that.

For now you can't get any more of a modern PC than mine but it still says i don't meet the requirements. So f that i cba to mess about with the bios just so i can install Win 11.

Looks like i'm sticking with 10 for the foreseeable future... I have downloaded the PC health checker but i already know what problems would exist.

PChealthcheck - TPM 2.0 must be supported and enabled on this PC.....

So Microshaft want people to go into the bios and enable these things just so you can install the new OS.

    GG M$

This PC will not run Windows 11
Your PC does not currently meet the needed requirement. You can continue to get Windows 10 updates, or you can shop for a new Windows 10 PC that does meet the requirements lol OK Thanks for that MS

SO, if your PC does not support TPM 2.0, they were saying you wont get any updates. My CPU is like 1-2 gens behind the supported versions(5820K). It's my gaming PC that does everything I need it to and plays 99% of games in ultra mode(Cyberpunk aside).

So, no updates (proven wrong already), this must mean no feature updates(another rumor). They said they would limit something but, never said what.

So what limits (besides the security at the bios level) will installing Windows 11 on a machine with a unsupported CPU/Chipset give us ?

Not going to update if I am limited on features later on and re-installing the OS every 6 months is NOT going happen...

Shop for another PC, LOL... That's Microsoft for you...

    Wow that's bad.

Applications sensitive to memory subsystem access time may be impacted.

Expected performance impact of 3-5% in affected applications, 10-15% outliers possible in games commonly used for eSports.

Applications sensitive to the performance of one or a few CPU threads may exhibit reduced performance.

Performance impact may be more detectable in >8-core processors above 65W TDP.

That's easy enough to understand but makes me also not want to install into a downgraded OS because right now with these issues it would be a downgrade.

Similar to "Everyone must wear Covid masks to protect against spreading your own virus particles, but if you don't like wearing masks you can wear a clear plastic visor 6 inches from your face that does absolutely nothing except make you look like an idiot"

The forced TPM and Secure Boot crap had me scrapping Windows 11 in an instant. It's up tp my what features i want to turn on and which not. Considering TPM is not just on and off and requires additional stuff to remove it again. Also the fact that this can lock my system up and not making me access my stuff anymore if something goes wrong, leaves a bitter taste.
