Microsoft has released KB5020044, an optional update for Windows 11 22H2 that addresses issues in various areas. To name one flaw that affected games and applications performance.... Microsoft offers optional update KB5020044: fixes Windows 11 22H2 gaming performance
Did this only affect 11 22H2? What about 10 22H2? Was that only with WMR? I'm not aware if SteamVR, Oculus, or any 3rd-party streamers were affected.
I'm not sure, it due to the Event Tracing bug, which affected anything that utilized the provider. WMR's HolographicShell process was affected, but so were others.
Beware, this update wiped out all of my pinned start menu items and replaced them with the garbage you usually get with a fresh install. Also reinstalled all the junk apps i had already uninstalled. Note: I got mine from Windows Update itself, not through the provided download link.
Still waiting for the update which allows for the ability to disable taskbar grouping and enable small taskbar, without the need of a thirdparty app. Once that happens i'll move to 11.
I said it happened to me. Just because it didn't happen to you doesn't mean it didn't happen. Word your reply better.
no it didn't, and it can be proven that "no it didn't" because the pinned items are retained in a unique binary in the User profile @ %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations and %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.StartMenuExperienceHost_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\start.bin , which isn't touched at all by the MSU deployment for this, or any other windows update. What can happen, and does occasionally is the affiliated binary file sporadically corrupts on termination of the Explorer/Startmenu shell process, which has occurred going back to vista days on the pinned jumplists

You 2 people are the only reports of this occurring, are you on right to left languages? This article went up prior to this update https://www.thewindowsclub.com/start-menu-resets-to-default-after-reboot I think you've just been unlucky and been hit by random occurence. https://www.askvg.com/fix-windows-1...ime-zone-start-menu-doesnt-save-your-changes/
