Microsoft Flight Simulator was built from the ground up to achieve three key goals: realism, accuracy, and authenticity of flight. Today, we're excited to share that Virtual Reality for Microsoft Fli... Microsoft Flight Simulator Update Brings Virtual Reality
Yeah, you can see the terrible stuttering even in the video. VR is about smoothness and fast response times. In current state, the MSFS has neither. If they manage to make it run completely smooth at 60FPS, it would be passable. But smooth 90FPS is the goal here, which is impossible to achieve right now.
oh please, if you don't know what you are talking about it is best you don't say anything... VR in MSFS is just fine and will get better. Right now you can easy get 30+ fps and smooth. You DO NOT need 90 fps for flight sims including in VR!
Maybe not 90fps, but 60fps is mandatory, especially when you sit in an Extra 300. I think, they would rather fix all the other issues first, before switching to VR!! There are still so many panel and plane issues..., it looks awsome, but has nothing to do with a "simulator" yet, in my opinion it´s just a Xbox game...
There is a review of this at Ars Technica and they were not impressed. It still needs a LOT of optimization work.
You kind of do need to maintain a high framerate in VR or the entire VR immersion thing doesn't really work. It needs to remain fluid or it doesn't feel right and the experience is ruined. 80FPS or 90FPS is what many new headsets run at.
Cracking stuff, will see what hmd likes it the best, still using the Rift cv1 but the Quest 2 might be good for this.
