Micron Technology has begun mass production of GDDR6X memory chips rated at 21 Gbps and 24 Gbps, which will be utilized solely by NVIDIA in its next-generation RTX 40-series "Ada" graphics... Micron is developing 21Gbps and 24Gbps GDDR6X memory chips.
this isn't "news" Micron began production of gddr6x months ago. apparently Videocardz didn't know of the 3090ti or the production window for Lovelace. if they "just began production" Lovelace wouldn't be ready until spring.
Videocards only wrote about 24Gb being new, for some reason this turned into 21Gb also being new over here. Someones been rushing news.
I remember that back in the gddr5 days I think the Samsung chips were better overclockers but ran hotter as well
For DDR4 yes, Samsung B-die ruled. But Micron is supposed to be king at this stage for DDR5. Have no clues about GDDR6 though.
