so to u wolfenstein the new colossus was a step back from the previous games? i could agree
I would say main character in all three new Wolfenstein games is the regime (new order): antagonists, environment, overall feeling in the air.
And strangely enough I got bored in new Doom after couple of hours. I was surprised by that. I guess I got spoiled by games with story because in 90s I played Doom, Quake, Duke Nukem many times without any boredom.
I would give you that in New Order (and to an extent in Old Blood), but New Colossus is way too saturated with characters and long cutscenes with dialogue for that to be the case. This is where I see TNC a lot worse than TNO and OB. New Order (and Old Blood even more) had great levels and enemy mixing, and the "story" had a good flow (especially in Old Blood because that did away with the rather pointless hideout). TNC has worse levels when it comes to design, it halves your hitpoints (so the gameplay becomes a cover-shooter on higher difficulties), and bogs the game down with far too many interludes that go nowhere (the sub hideout being far too large, confusing, and mostly pointless, the dream sequence at the court, which boiled my blood), too much talking, increasing BJ internal monologue (he has more of it in the first quarter of the game than in the entirety of Old Blood), and mostly making it insufferable (him constantly asking for wings and being overtly "poetic" at every detail).
So yeah, TNC runs at way better tech, but ultimately is the worse game than it's two predecessors.
It was to me, for what it's worth.
You want too much from this simple game. I don`t and I love all new parts.
PS And obviously The Old Blood is spin-off, so it differs in hide-out thing (with many characters to interact).
You know, I really don't want much from Wolfenstein. It seems to me that the some of the devs wanted much more from TNC. Somebody wanted to write all the dialogue/plot, and they got to do it. It just turned out to be rather overblown nonsense. This is where DOOM gets it right, because it prefers gameplay to story, having the plot delivered by 1~2 characters through short bursts of dialogue (with no cutscenes).
I get that Old Blood is a "spin-off", but it's actually closer to Wolf3d and Return to Castle Wolfenstein than TNO and TNC XD.
New cinematic trailer.
That's a lot less Metro than I expected
Yah, I would prefer more subterranean antics but I guess having done that for two games, they are compelled to do something a little different.
There is a reason it's called ''Exodus''.
and the graphic look quite downgraded. I'm worry!! Metro use to be a pinnacle of graphic, this one look pretty dated. O__O"
In what way does this look "dated"?
The game looks great. Both in terms of gameplay and visuals.
Personally, I'm thrilled it's not more of the same... that they are shifting away from the tight confines of the tunnels. Looks like Mad Max + Metro.
Idk i think it looks good.
the new trailer looks good, remind me of Snowpiercer a bit. excellent movie.
hope the game will deliver.. i prefer not to pre-order and wait for a few legit reviews.
It will look fantastic on PC with RTX, HairWorks and Advanced PhysX. I dunno about performance though
The trailer looks and sounds Hollywood not Russian. Also it has a generic 2019 feeling not my old favorite S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Metro feeling. I hope the game has Russian as a language but i'm not even sure that will be enough to bring back the memories.
With all those expect a very cinematic 24 fps @ 720p
I think it looks good. The thing I fear most are the GPU requirements. 2080Ti SLI to have acceptable FPS? :/
Those days are long gone(Crysis 1 - 2007).
It feels like Far Cry Ubishit.
