If you read the comments about this game from various forums, this game is a mess.

I can't report on exactly how many of those issues I am personally affected with because it always crashes after the intro video so have never actually seen the main menu, let alone played the game!

I have it on UWP, which is also a joke tbh. Didn't think anything could be worse than GamesForWindowsLive but Microsoft have excelled themselves at creating a truly awful experience.

I was thinking about trying it out on Xbox Beta for PC, after all its a couple of €uros a month now that it's on discount. So even if it's as bad as you say it won't be a total waste of money.

The Windows Store version is buggy. The Epic Store version is not.

Should not be long before its available on Steam. But let them iron out all the bugs first.

That's exactly what I thought. Only cost £1 for the first month, so gave it a try. Should've known better, I have bought Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 3 & 4 from Windows Store before and all of them have had bad bugs when first released

Game froze on my 5 times in 15 mins on the first level on the XBX, twice while they are carrying you on the stretcher, and when it reloaded it was amounst a attacking pack of those dog things..........so i deleted it and got back 50 gig of space bag, game is a unfinished mess and when it is freezing a console then that is time to ditch it.

I think it's only the UWP version. I've played through it twice on PC and never had any serious issues with it.

These patches are only for the Microsoft Game Store version. Like stated earlier, the Epic Game Store version is fine. Only experienced a CTD once and that was before the first patch came out. After that no issues worth mentioning.

Got Metro Exodus back in Feb, DX12 was buggy at first, but DX11 ran flawlessly at release for me, on Epic.

^^^Judging from the amount of yt channels discussing the games issues and google searches it seems the hard lock issue is widespread across all formats, pc, Xbox ps4.

UWP is a mess. Bought 1 game with UWP, never doing that again.

Update: A fix has been shipped.

There is currently a known issue that prevents the Epic Games Launcher from running on a class of processors(CPUs) that support the SHA-NI instruction set. This includes Intel Apollo Lake CPUs, Intel Ice Lake CPUs, and other CPUs that report SHA-NI in the same way.

The fix for this issue has made its way into other Epic products and will be making its way to the Epic Games Launcher in the near future.

Until the fix makes it out, a potential workaround to this issue is to set the following environment variable before starting the launcher: set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000
To do this you can create a .bat file with the following inside. Be sure to change the directory to your Epic Games Launcher install folder and run this bat every time you want to run the store.
    cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win32
    set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000
    EpicGamesLauncher.exe

People also need to remember that the Epic Game Store Launcher can be bypassed entirely. Just need to add the switch -EpicPortal to the end of the target and the store never ever runs unless specifically wanted.

Only catch is that the game saves are not in the same folder as if the game was run from the store's launcher
