This engine is so well optimized that without Vsync the game runs at 40-50 fps on the X360 most of the time. Today the complete interview on Eurogamer http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-tech-interview-metro-2033
lol, looks like i just sneak into the recommended system requirements, well providing i stick with my OC. It's going to be hard to resist playing this till i upgrade though, as im sure it will still look fantatic, but will see how well it runs in DX10, GPU PhysX once i shove the 9600GSO in. These optimal specs are insane though lol A GPU that wont be out, it wants more than 8gb of ram and ideally a SSD. Think all games should put optimal sys req's on the case, would let people know, since most think recommended is what you need to max it atg 60fps.
Think of it as what Crytek forgot to tell us about Crysis at the time. And maybe popping in a 4 GB USB stick will count as well lol.
It must be me but I dont think those screenshots look that great, remind me of stalker with mods. The first screenshot shows some monsters (?) that need some work. Maybe I m getting old and my eyes betray me ...lol
I reckon it will be alrite on my comp, i know it wont run at max and wouldnt expect it to. new vid anyways http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-kill-metro-2033/62290
It must be your eyes and some of it probably will need work, but its the best visuals i've saw in a game so far based on screenies and video's even if it does lack the prettiness of something like the early Crysis levels.
Im calling my Doctor later because I m still not impressed I dont call them ugly in anyway I think they look great. I got the feeling I wasnt looking anything new. I guess it has some Stalker graphics which are awesome (with mods). I m buying the game because I like what I ve seen so far.
Im really hoping that this is the game thats going to push systems abit, thats what i liked crysis for. I reckon it will be a game that wont run max/well until the new nvidia cards come or maybe even later than that.
It does seem to have the same color palette at first sight but everything in the 4A engine has been optimized to use multiple threads, so expect more than STALKER graphics. A lot of aspects of the game simply come from 3rd party modules.
It won't use more than 3GB RAM,however vRam is another story...... Optimum settings are for those who will use 3d vision+dx11+PhysX effects edit:Fermi also has 1GB ram so it won't need more than that.
Why wouldn't it...it reads on the Metro 2033 site that having 8+ GB RAM would be great (ok yeah it would be great in general). With a 64 bit OS it wouldn't be a problem either. Where did you get that information? And how should they fit 1 GB on a 320 or 384 bit memory bus? 1280 and 1536 MB seem more closer to the truth to me.
