    Hi,

I have G.Skill F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO memory and GA-890GPA-UD3H motherboard. The memories should be operating at 1600MHZ and CL 7-8-7-24-2N at 1.35Volts. I tried to set these settings but was unable to boot, so I set them to 1600MHz and CL7 but left the volts at 1.5V. I did MemTest86+ for about an hour and there were no problems, but less than 24 hours later I got a blue screen.
I changed the settings to their defaults (1333Mhz, CL9, 1.5V) and for now (few days) everything is fne.
Did I damage my memories? How do I make them work at 1600MHZ? Maybe I should try to set them to 1600MHZ but not touch the timings and the volts?

    Thank you!

the memory controller in the amd isnt designed to handle high memory clocks iirc. on my last amd setup, i had g skill 2000mhz ram, but ended up running them at 1600mhz due to stability issues.

maybe try updating your BIOS to see if it adds support for any newer memory modules?

Thanks for the reply. I dont know how to flash the BIOS and it seems pretty dangerous... even in GIGABYTE website they say: "BIOS flashing is potentially risky".

    Any help please?

Maybe if I try to set it to 1600MHz CL 7-8-7-24 but volts to 1.55? It may help to get stability? Willit damage the memories or cause them to overheat?

    Thanks.

1.55v on your memory should be fine

    Your motherboard spec's ram @ 1066 and 1333.
    The 2000 is overclocked.

You may need to do proper config of your motherboard to achieve this overclock.

You may need to adjust clocks or seperate ram clocks from cpu if your board supports it.

Personally I have ddr31600 ram @ stock speed.

Honestly, there is so little to be gained by the ram overclock, I would recomend stock clocks.

The memory controller on these CPU's is limited to 1333.
From what I have read @ Corsair's forums, in order to achieve 1600, you will need to overclock your CPU.
The performance gain from 1333 > 1600 is negligible.
I'm running mine @ 1333. It's no biggie unless you absolutely have to "see" your clocks @ 1600.
