LOL I was waiting for someone too mention that, but I'm sure he was being sarcastic (at least I hope he was )
Daily for a few years now but apparently a lurker for a while before :3eyes:, I usually only post only when I have something smart to say hence the low post count.
That was weird, your usually online all the time until you didn't show up a couple of months back Your only a regular until you can't not go onto Guru3D
Does Guru3d offer a persistent cookie? I mean one that will stay active for a preset amount of time as dictated by a setting within the user CP? Would be pretty cool if we could do that. I tend to lurk just to see if there are places where I can or want to post. Then I'll log-in if there is. A lot of times, I will have to re-log-in after a while even if I am just surfing around site logged in but not posting.
A computer was something on TV From a sci fi show of note. A window was something you hated to clean And ram was the cousin of goat. Meg was the name of my girlfriend And gig was a job for the nights. Now they all mean different things And that really mega bytes. An application was for employment. A program was a TV show. A curser used profanity. A keyboard was a piano. Memory was something that you lost with age. A CD was a bank account. And if you had a 3 1/2" floppy You hoped nobody found out. Compress was something you did to the garbage Not something you did to a file. And if you unzipped anything in public You'd be in jail for a while. Log on was adding wood to the fire. Hard drive was a long trip on the road. A mouse pad was where a mouse lived. And a backup happened to your commode. Cut you did with a pocket knife. Paste you did with glue. A web was a spider's home. And a virus was the flu I guess I'll stick to my pad and paper And the memory in my head. I hear nobody's been killed in a computer crash, But when it happens they wish they were dead.
Glad I'm not the only one who finds it irritating. I've been here for about 6 years now but I was "just visiting" for the first four and a half. I post when I feel like I can answer someone's question or offer advice based on my own personal experiences or knowledge. I was under the impression that was the purpose of the forum. I am frequently what some might call an a$$hole in my posts but usually it's in response to bad advice or just complete stupidity. In the end accurate information will be far more beneficial than whether or not I said please and thank you. Guru3D's popularity has soared in the last few years. The forums are almost always at the top of any Google search that is computer hardware related. Keep that in mind the next time your typing your flaming post or reply to a thread with something silly or inconsequential. There are places on the forum for those types of posts. Let's try to keep them there so the forums will continue to be a place that people come to for help.
Thank you for saying the words I have been looking for, for a long time, sir. Bad advice seems to be rampant at times here.
Hear hear. Like postcount is an indicator how smart someone is or how much he knows. Bleh... I'm reading more than posting lately. When i want to (try) saying something useful, i would post it. All the other times, i rather keep some things to myself. As for the guy earlier brown-nosing Cybermancer...... that's all the info we WANT! Yeah, please give us more details. LOL /jk
I've been visiting the forums since I found out it's more up-to-date than the front page since October 2008 I've been looking at all the new reviews and everyone's comments, some were funny, some were informative. Then I walked into the Vault of Fail... XD That was the day I decided to join the forums ^^ So I guess this is my introduction to Guru3D, Hello everyone and I wish I will have many laughs and learn so many things about hardware with you guys (and gals!)
