Hail Hydra? Marvel puns aside, a new brand is today announcing their € 999 Hydra Desk and a PC Case. The Hydra Desk is a desk case capable of becoming a real-life battle station. It offers ... Meet the Hydra Desk and PC Case
Pretty cool but 1k is a lot for a desk/case. On the other hand, it will last you a lifetime. I dunno, im not dropping cash on it though.
I like that. But the price is way too deep. And i don´t think it would be what i want/need. But, still a good looking desk.
Its very cool but nowhere near the asking price of 1k! With all the materials ect your looking at maybe 200-300 dollars build it urself.
im willing to pay for quality/what i like, but this is a joke. just get a nice desk from ikea, add another "level" with some coffee-table legs and a glass top and put hardware in between. plan on doing that once i have my own house, since i want to combine it with an "external" LC (rads/fans outside the room its in)...
Hahahaha that would be nice for some of us, or ashtray for others. Maybe a small hidden freezeer for beer, Coke... weed Yep, dunno if my legs would fit into this
Hey, That's a great idea!...another patent invented here!... I like hanging out with y'all smart people......
Although most of us here agree about that a bit pricey this table is we can't say things like this desk aren't good for custom build PC market and PC market in general. We need more things like this to push the limits, more modular desks for example (to add or remove parts of the desk to fit something else on it's place, lets say something from manufacturer's catalog, small freezer why not), competition among manufacturers and as a result price will go down and wide range of look a like product will be available. It's an evolution, we came a long way since first PC XT white/grey desktops. It's expencive for my wallet and not sure my legs would fit in it but I like this desk. I bet 10 or 15 years from now desks like this one would be common thing among entusiast PC users, same as tempered glass cases are flooding the market right now. Most important thing is that prices will be much more affordable 10, 15y from now due to competition.
I don't like glass under my hands. That is uncomfy and cold. I not say its not worhty price. But I think for 1k I can build better custom PC desk
Not a lot of cash for a case really, but when you consider the "constraints" this thing has on support.....then yeah it is a lot of money for what it doesn't support. Mainly 480/560mm radiators. Just limiting yourself on the 360 rads is just simply insane at this price point. I have been in the market to possibly sell my CaseLabs Magnum STH-10 w/Pedestal for about a grand as I've paid about $1,500+ considering accessories and all. Just so I could get a killer desk to house everything this case can. I am sure I could do it all with some serious "hard modding" but that is not the idea at these price points.
But you can run three 360's aid by side in the leg. And a 480 is the back of it. Do you really need more rads?
Not really, in my country the DK-01 is ~ 750 euro and DK-02 is ~ 1000 euro... I want to make a mod using this 200 euro desk:
