nope, higher temps while idle say otherwise

i believe they stopped downclocking the mem clocks on the 4870 cards because of the screen flashing

    [edit] too slow, lol

Great, now when I try to go back to 8.11, I'm getting "Code 10" error in the device manager. I did driver clean, and manual, still won't work. When I try to install ATI driver says can't find INF file.

    Okay
Not touching this beta. Until there is a marked improvement with the beta I will wait for the official release.

Now it's "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)" I run drivercleaner in safemode and reboot, same thing. This is causing my ATI drivers to say can't find INF.

Edit: Ok, so I can only install these RC3 drivers now, however crossfire doesn't work and my other gpu in device manager says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". Gonna try uninstall just with ati install manager.

Edit#2: Finally got 8.11 back on and crossfire working. What I did was install the suite, when the INF error came up I just continued with the install. I didn't restart, I went straight to device manager, right clicked my top card, properties - update driver, and pointed to the ATI folder where the files were extracted. First it will say failed to install them, after that I right clicked both cards and uninstall,, rebooted and the drivers got picked up automatically and then one more reboot was required. I just hope this won't happen on the official release next week.

I was finally able to get the drivers installed and my quadfire up and going. I did see some improvement in Call of Juarez.

These drivers improved the shadows in GTA for me. Dunno about the performance, as I didn't try it alot with the 8.11's. But these are definitely very much usable for GTA IV. Works perfectly here.

You people saying crossfire works is making it tempting for me to try these drivers out again, but I'll just wait till official :O
