Thank you for this. Fixed my video problems on Win 7 x64 + MPC-H x64 issue.

MPC-HC x64 was acting up with SVP tube but quantly was good. CPU usage through the roof on my 4790K with 1060 GTX. x32 HC was better but had overblown colors.

 

Ooops... looks like i overseen the 1.8.7 Release..
And the New STABLE for MPCBE 1.5.3 (build 4488)

Question: I am looking for a guide on how to set up MPC-BE to use Dolby Atmos for Headphones or DTS:X for Headphones (Spatial Sound plugins for Win10) to handle decoding and generate HTRF 2.0 stream. I want to test them vs just using built-in decoders and using SBX Virtual 7.1 on my G6.

 

Hmm yes, I am interested in this also for some very high end cans.
I've not listened to a movie with them yet, an HRTF of Atmos surround would be special.
It might help me iron out the kinks in my slightly larger Atmos setup.

hmmm, i searched a bit for what you guys want...
im not shure how your Atmos software works.

1. you could try to add it via external Filters...
2. Since LAVFilters allready supports Dolby Atmos, and i do hope you are all using "LavFilters", it should work right out of the Box.

Not shure if you will find the Answer there... What i can say, without headphones, i mean on a true atmos system it will passtrough the true dolby atmos and is working..
Imm not shure if that works for headphones, and also if its possibly to downsample those to Stereo, wich was the Problem in the Issue Thread...

Also, be shure to use "Bitstreaming" in LavAudio!!!

Try using MPC-HC also, see if it makes a difference.. Or even PotPlayer... just to see if its a Player Problem, not the Codecs/Filter..
Might be usefull to make a screenshot of your Lav Settings in MPC-BE, and also if you are using the "internal" LavFilters or "External"...
Also, what are the settings in MPC-BE under Audio? Maybe theres some Conflict...
What are those Headphones? 5.1, 7.1, 2.0?
Aaand, sorry for the Noob Question... WHAT IS "HRTF" ??

Sadly id o not have anything that can play ATMOS, so i cant try myself, wich would be alot easier.
Anyway, if i find some more infos i wil let you know..

I hope this will help a bit, or at least give you some reading in the right direction..

Well, theres nothing new to say at the Moment, since madshi is working on his other Project right now.. (https://www.madvrlabs.llc/)

But, MADVR runs good and everything works so far, so theres no rush...

Mufflore and I would be using high quality stereo headphones. In my case it's a set of Sony MDR-SA5000. I can ascertain that I have the setup working, as I can tell when the 5.1/7.1 tracks are being stripped down to 2.0 only.

@Mufflore When the movie is encoded well, the effect is very immersive, and you pick up on audio cues intended by the director.

Does this allow playing of HD DVDs? If so how do I go about playing mine?

Assuming it doesn't how do I go about playing my HD DVDs in win10? I know it's old tech. I can't find a genuine copy of Powerdvd 7.3 Ultra for sale, and I've tried Nero 8 ultra, and EasyDVDplayer to no avail.

 

it should work with LavFilters...
I think Lav has support for HD-DVD and BlueRay disks..
If the DIsc is encrypted then you would need anydvd i think.. im not really shure..

I cant say for shure to be honest. But i think i remember that i read sometimes ago that LAVFilter supports it..

You could allways see what exact codec you need and just add it as external Filter/codec in MPC-HC.
I did this with powerDVD Installed the Trial, copied the Filters i needed and used them externaly in MPC-HC.

Anyway, just try it.. Use MPC-HC Portable, no need to install it, and see if the codecs are all enabled.
If that doesnt work, Disable all codecs in MPC-HC and sownload and install teh latest LAVFilters (nightly) and add LAVVideo, LavAudio and Lavsplitter source and LavSPlitter EXTERNALY to MPC-HC.. its under External Filters.. Make shure to elevate and activate them.

That should work..

Ah that's great thanks mate. I've been spending days looking on google and trying to figure this out. Been trying K-lite codec pack and windows 7 codecs lol.

yeah, it doesnt really care wich one you will use.. MPC-BE is a bit more advanced id say, since they integrated new stuff..
But besides that MPC-HC is the same, so it depends on teh User what he needs and wants..

I like em Both and also use them Both... So.....

umm, MPC-HC also does it, its just located somewhere else.. (at least as far as i know)

I have another problem though.

I am unable to install Powerdvd 7.3 now. I had done before though but what with me sodding about with trying to get HD DVDs working I can't install it any more.
It comes up with this screen: This setup will perform an upgrade of ". Do you want to continue?
I've tried Googling a solution but no luck. I've tried trying to completely wipe out all traces of cyberlink/pdvd ,and when I thought I had it still pops up on install. I realise it may seen trivial but it's completely winding me up.

Does anyone know where I can get a decent copy of it? I can't seem to buy it anywhere.

 

Im happy to hear that you can now play HD-DVD´s.. Can i ask, what you did to make it work? Or what solution you are using now?

Did you try Uninstalling it in "SAFE" mode?
I guess you allready checked out the whole registry and delted everything related to Cyberlink, etc..

Theres one uninstaller i use from time to time.. Usually i dont use such tools but this one is pretty neat..
Its BCUninstaller and its also OPEN SOURCE.. Its one if not the best tool for such Things...

My opinion? i wouldnt pay 99$ for something what MPCHC or MPCBE allready can do with some tricks, shaders and renderer... The Best part of it MPCHC/BE gives you the freedom to with it whatever you want

Thanks for the excellent info.

I think I managed to play the HD DVDs with anydvd HD. I had the codecs I was recommended and I use media player, and I open the disc and play the main feature. I honestly don't know how else to play it with its main menu to then look at the special features and to play the film.
Am not sure if pdvd 12 has HD DVD support, as I read somewhere that it's pdvd 7.3 that supports the format.
I already have pdvd 19 ultra, but I can't play them with it. Even with all the codecs I have installed.
Anyway thank you again for all your help and suggestions.
