i've put SP on hold untill the hellfire bug gets fixed (not interested in starting mission over) however i'm starting to like the MP, i bought the game to basically replace MW2, and for me its done that in spades ... just wish there where MORE maps!

    Seems you peeps were right...

Medal of honor was NOT too bad, but graphics wise, I expected far better. It's really not much different than call of duty modern warfare 2...

I'm playing the game MAXED out with 1920x1080, aa & af to 16x and I get a minimum constant frame rate of 60 or higher.

When looking at temps with cpu-z, it says gpu 70 degrees celcius and cpu ONLY 40 degrees!!!

This means the game is not even making use of my hardware at all, in fact, battlefield bad company 2 pisses over medal of honor graphics wise and it's older...

I'm 100% when cod black ops comes out, it will whoop medal of honor's ass gameplaywise and graphics wise...

The game is CAPPED to 62FPS MAX in the ".INI" files.

No doubt it would be in the high 100's if this was edited and ran on any good modern RIG.

I agree with you totally here.

I've just finished the SP in around 6 hours, only had to restart once because the game decided to jump to the end credits half way through a mission.

Yeah graphically it's not leaps ahead of BFBC2 but my rig blazes through it on max and it looks pretty enough.

The one thing I really enjoyed about the SP was how fluid the storyline was. There's no hopping about between different campaigns in different countries and you really get a sense that what you do in one mission will affect how the rest of the game pans out.

I've played every CoD and BF game released for PC since they were released and I think this is up there in my top 3 for storyline and depth (not necessarily length)

    Anyway, my 2 pence

To fix the pathetic consolish FOV in SP:

    Go to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Medal of Honor\Engine\Config\
Open BaseEngine.ini it with notepad, search for [SystemSettings]
Make a new line under that heading and paste FOVAngle=90.000000 (or whatever value you chose)
Save the file. My graphics setting were set really low after I made this change, so you'll just have to change them back once you're in-game.

Just got the game and i finished the SP in like 4hours and half i think. I loved it but it was too short! EA was solely developing the SP part, couldn't they just put on more levels ?

Medal of Honor is based on a true story? I didn't know that, it didn't say on the game.

    To add to my above...

Just played MP and it's like playing in a cartoon world with the enemy 10 meters away when they spawn. There's no recoil on the guns, no feel to the game and you can pretty much see the enemy from spawn on each map.

Think I'll be going back to BFBC2 for MP

What is it with Unreal 3 based engine games? always mosue too sensitive even when set to the lowest in the game options. Do they design the games for 125dpi mouse or for god damn touch pad?

Had to change mouse sens to 15 in the .ini and the minimum set by options was 35 lol.
Had to change fov from 55 to 104 for widescreen
    Had to disable mouse smoothing
    Had to disable mouse acceleration

Seriously sick of this bs, have they forgotten how to set up a FPS on the PC? Why even bother with this **** console ports if they cant even get mouse and FOV right.

I didn't have any issues with the mouse movement/sensitivity... I actually had to increase it because it felt a bit sluggish for me.
Reminds me of FEAR 2, people claimed the mouse movement was to sensitive even at the lowest setting. While I had to max the slider out because it was the only way I could get it to feel "right"... and even then it feels a bit off.

I had the same issues with mouse sensitivity, but as per above, its all down to personal opinion, we all have different tastes.

Had no issue with the FOV though, but i game about 6feet from a large TV.

The fov is fine for a TV when your 6 feet away which makes sense on a console but with a 24" monitor right in front of you it is ridiculous. Had to nearly double it to make it feel like a PC FPS.

Man, I wish Id engines would take over again never had such issues with those.

    Find C:\Users\UserName\Documents\EA Games\Medal of Honor\Config

    Then in mohainput.ini edit

    bEnableMouseSmoothing=true to FALSE

To disable mouse acceleration add bViewAccelerationEnabled=False under [MOHAGame.MOHAPlayerInput]

    For FOV
    edit mohengine.ini

Find or add FOVAngle=90.000000 under [SystemSettings].

Add more if you wish. I like 104 on a 16:10 screen.

    Yeah, that's why i said i was using a TV :)
No idea why they don't have a FOV option in the options, not like it would take them anytime to add, off the top of my head can only remember Stalker having that, not really an issue with U3, as its easily changed in the config files, but not always that easy, saying that, these days i rarely have to put the FOV down, but im sure lots of monitor players want to put it up.

@ TriGGlety These older games use a Horizontal FOV so if your gaming at 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 you correctly calculated FOV is 85, some like it @ 90.

There is FOV calculators available and also a newer Vertical Calculator for newer games like the MP of this game which is basically BFBC2 which uses Vertical FOV and would be set to 55.

The SP game is Hor and the MP is Vert FOV.

For SP I need 104-106 Hor and for MP I need 80-85 Vert IIRC.

For a 4:3 screen 90 Hor is perfect for 16:10 106 is perfect.

"On a normal 4:3 aspect ratio screen, a 90 degree horizontal field of view
gives a 75 degree vertical field of view. If you keep the vertical fov
constant and run on a wide screen, you get a 106 degree horizontal fov."

I know the SP is Hor and the MP is Ver, that is EXACTLY what I said !

104 is your choice for SP but its not the proper calculated FOV for 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 (both 16:10 and most common RES's peeps are on today).

85 is correct, some prefer 90 and anything like 100 or higher is simply too horrid looking.

Just seen BFBC2 Calculator makes 85 H actually 60 V (ain't used it in long time since launch of BC2 !

I did not give him a FOV for 10:9 because its does not make sense for any monitor I have ever seen.

He can goggle the calculator and add his RES to it and get the correct FOV for both SP and MP using 2 different calculators.
