I got both MP1 and MP2 installed in Widesceen without stretching, you probably installed the patch wrong. And enabling Direct3D 4x4 Anti-Aliasing in Nvidia Inpsector also get's rid of the texture seams.
With the fixes installed both games work in Wide(16:9/10), Ultrawide(21:9) and even SuperUltrawide(32:9) without stretching. Fisheye a little sure... But no stretching. Two sample shots I've shared before to prove it. Max Payne 1 all patched up with a texture mod Max Payne 2 all patched up as well
hope those fresh remakes won't take too long to make, cause since i saw this topic im tempted to go for a dual play.. think i played those two more than 10 years ago.
When was the original Max Payne removed from sale on Steam? I went to see how much it costs but then found you can't buy it...
Max Payne 1 and 2 were removed from Steam for certain countries last year. It's still available in some, like the US. I can still see/buy the game. They never, at least as far as I saw, said why the games were removed from some regions. But, once we get closer to these remakes being released... with it being Rockstar, I'd expect them to be removed from all regions. Well, Remedy's main focus is Alan Wake 2. They have expanded to work on multiple projects at once, but... I wouldn't expect these remakes to release until sometime after AW2 releases in 2023.

I was hesitant to get Max Payne 3 on launch day, but seeing that Dan Houser wrote the story I was very interested. I agree, it actually might be my favorite of the trilogy also. These trailers made my mind explode the first time seeing them.
I love how games - especially back then - would use little tricks to make everything seem more believable. At 25 seconds, Max turns his head to follow the train. In reality, Max occasionally turning his head like that is just part of his idle animation. He'll do that anytime, anywhere. It's just timed here to make it look like he's doing it for the train.
Yep, you can get it here: https://www.amazon.de/Rockstar-Game..._mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&keywords=max+payne+1&sr=8-20
Yup! Still had MaxPayne1 installed and just went back and checked and its still working like a champ. Although now the audio is a little messed up, things like voice overs during story elements and some environment sounds aren't playing. Not sure whats going on there :\ *late edit* Fixed. Had to apply an audio fix that is part of a large "fixpack" and now it's all better
Get a 4K or 8K 16:9 Widescreen and just chop the vertical resolution down. I do this on my OLED. Looks amazing in the dark.
