No motherboard drivers installed, so your AGP slot is running at PCI speeds. Download and install a chipset package from your motherboard manufacturer.

yep.. happened to me when i didn't install the intel .inf files....

(they r the first thing u have to install after format)

so just install whatever amd (or ur mobo manu.) has for this kind of thing

Wait, you can actually see a difference when your frames go from 100 to 60? Personally, I'd say a difference such as 60 and 20 is much worse, heck, even 60 and 40 is worse.

Yeah but you should check your AGP Drivers or the display settings, could be some sort of AA/AF problems.

it also depends on what models you're using.

Some of the high quality custom models have polygon counts in the 1000 and up range -- per model -- which will definitely slow you down even on an old engine like HL... Er, especially like an old engine like HL ;)

What the hell are you talking about? It's 53.03, by the way, and they're actually the best drivers out for games.

I have the same issue, ive re-installed all mobo drivers and im running CS at the lowest quality, ive been trying to figure out this problem for the last 2 years :( someone told me its cuz my cpu chip is a northbridge or something? Next thing im going to do is upgrade the cpu to a 2.4 533mhz and see what happens...

i use custom models as well but ive seen this problem happen with users using the base CS skins so i dunno :(

Just to let everyone know, this issue has been discussed before on a different thread, nothing was solved on it, make sure you have some coffee handy cuz its quite long :
