How would we know what the console version is like? But the answer will always be : inferior to pc.
It looks better then I tought. Playing ME1 fist with reshade and RTGI @5K runs ok and looks quite good
I needed reshade version 4.6.1 for RTGI to work tough, the newer one didn't get a complete depthbuffer.
Downloaded of Origin this morning and been playing ME1
My monitor has HD400 so a tried that, calibrated HD in-game and then went back to SD visuals
Back and forth, back and forth
I need a better HD monitor to truly capitalise on HD gaming I think
All in all will give it a try. I played ME1, Me2 and ME3 as pirated versions back in the day and loved it
Here are some pics with HD on and off at 4K
HDR and SDR im guessing you mean.
HD and SD refers to resolution, not color range.
As far as i tried the depth buffer access isn't stable at all ? tried with 4.7
Also reshade broke mouse/keyboard support for multi monitor setup for me, as my mouse can access the other monitor at all time.
End up playing without reshade:
Couldn't seem to locate any ini edits that stick on the net...but finally found a way to make them work. In your Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME1\BioGame\Config folder, the GamerSettings.ini file is the one to edit.
I added in [SystemSettings] to the bottom of the file and tweaked the system settings to my liking. The system settings can be found in the BioEngine.ini file in the same folder. Add what you like adjust to your liking and save. Works for me, just giving the heads up to others. I'm sure other settings can be added and adjusted but I just messed with system settings.
What's the screen, curious as could be ideal for work as well.
makes sense now
Samsung Odyssey G9
Lol Shepard looks pretty good, but the others with their helms off... yeah not so much xD
im still waiting for feedback\reviews on the net about ME2 and ME3 considering bugs, cut-scenes etc..
while i see a far more fluid and gorgeous ME1 experience, if the second and third game are treated only with improved lightning\textures than it's a no go for me despite ME being my favorite trilogy.
i am very happy with always-updated PC mods like ALOT and PV that fixed and improved a lot of open issues that only veterans that replay the series will appreciate. so.. after rethinking about it,
im halting my purchase till more people will give feedback on those issues in ME2 and ME3.
Main character should do.
Weeeeell... to some extent, sure. But ideally there shouldnt be generations between main char and the others. In cyberpunk even random npc's look as good as the main characters.
But now im just not using human companions, and the aliens look much better.
Shepard's eyes in the remastered retake of ME1 are very spooky!
I mean it's a remaster of a game that's 14 years old. It's going to have some niggles.
I can overlook things like this. I don't think his eyes look out of this place, but that's probably because I'm used to Shepard. I'm loving this remaster, this will definitely be my GotY.
I wish they made a MassEffect where the characters looked as good as this.
That's never going to happen. Because nobody will ever make a game like Mass Effect.
This right here is the mentality for why I'm not paying full retail price for 4k remasters with a bunch of QoL updates and nothing else.
If they remade it from the bottom up akin to Crash/Spyro or Demon's souls remake then the asking price would've been justified. In my opinion, not even the stellar storytelling and engaging characters of the trilogy justify the asking price when considering the limited extent of improvements on display (especially when looking at the second and third entry which make up two thirds of the package).
These remasters don't seem to offer much if you played originals with 4x SGSSAA, HBAO+, texture packs and ReShade.
