mass effect 1, not allowed on the Normandy

After arriving at the Citadel, I have just accessed the assignment "unusual readings" and when I try to board the Normandy the maintenance officer says "sorry commander nobody is allowed onboard during routine maintenance".

What do I have to do to be able to board the ship?

Edit: I figured it out. Looks like I had to continue the main quest until Shephard is given command of the ship.

 

Yep certain areas of the game become accessible when you progress the main quest. Be sure to check back in Citadel occasionally aswell for side quests and stuff once you progress further.

 

This is hilarious.

 

:bang: I know, I know. I just reinstalled the game after all this time. I uninstalled it way back when I first bought it because I didn't like the combat.

I want to give it another try before spending $$ on ME2 and 3.

 

Just remember, the combat is way different in ME2 and 3. It's way more FPS and a bit faster paced.
