Thank you Hilbert for posting this article. Due to the unusual nature of this issue, it is (in a general sense) creating quite a drag on tech news. With that said, I nevertheless hope Guru3D will be able to keep us up-to-date.

I think you're overreacting regarding Inno3d response, that's generic but not shocking in any way, they're literally just saying their product aren't defective.

Especially in light of DerBauer recent testing which showed the minimal impact of capacitor swapping and good feedback from recent Nvidia driver update.

This is what I thought. Do they actually have problems with their cards?

Haven't heard anything about Inno3d cards so far? They might not even have shipped yet? Looking forward to further feedback from driver update, from derBauer video it really looked like a software issue at first glance (GPU sudden 100MHz frequency jump before crash).

But of course, the cleaner the input power is, the further you can theoretically go with overclocking, of course it's part of the equation as everyone can understand that but let's not blow it out of proportions.

I heard that Zotac fixed their cards before they got to market by flashing their cards with a new vBIOS which changed the clock frequency so the max boost doesn't reach 2ghz because users were complaining about their cards under performing so that might have been the cause.

I am just hoping with the other cards the 3070s and the 3060Tis there is no issues like this. I also agree with Buildzoid and what he said in his video about this. That Nvidia is also to blame here as well because they could have stepped in and said Hey Zotac, etc this doesn't match on what we made and what we sent you. We highly recommend that you redo this.

Not sure on what to think about Inno3d's response considering their cards are not even out to market for sale here.

I bought a Inno3D card years ago, it was just a mid range card but it died after only 6 months. I've been avoiding their products ever since. EVGA and Asus are my go-to AIB partners.

Bought the 3090 chill x4, great card, low temps, no issue so far, but I can't OC over 2000mhz, probably due to power limit thou, so I am not complaining. But had no issue at all before or after the driver update. The are using 2+4 config on the 3090 like the FE cards

My 980-ti inno3d is the only gpu i ever fried but i made a silly custom ROM for it, so that's on me also, served me well for 2years despite the heavy power ROM.

"Your $1500 USD video card has to be throttled by software to prevent it from crashing? No issues, working as intended. Carry on, peons."

That's a dogshit response. If anything he's underreacting. You don't sell high end products at stupid price tags, then say there's nothing wrong when everyone knows there is, when it's YOUR FAULT for using cheapass parts on an incredibly expensive item.

"2.1GHz+? Just settle for 1.9GHz, it's not like you paid $1500 for it, there's nothing wrong, stop complaining, shut up."

That attitude needs to be shot straight into the deepest depths of hell and burn there for all eternity. Companies are horrible enough with people complaining, if everyone became even more complacent it's not going to stay the same, it gets WORSE.
