Not in your case, no. c1:
If the CPU being a bottleneck or not you can't really say. Even if you are monitoring every and all cpu cores, you will only note high usage if it gets like that for a second or so. Spikes of usage, where the cpu tries to prepare and send large amount of data to the gpu, that continue 200-500ms you will not see in task manager, but game will pause and you will see a nice fps dip. Happening often enough (depending on game ofc) and you will have shuttery gameplay where the max cpu usage per core will be around 50%. The only real way to check that is with substantial OC to the cpu and to compare. Mantle can be of a big help with that.
BF4 and mantle is helping sell the R9 cards in big numbers. The price alone makes them very attractive to people looking to upgrade their existing cards. Mantle may well be a factor in people buying these cards but even before the R9 cards came along the 7000 series has sold very well. Which is why I told you to "get off your high horse" in response.
I was on the edge of selling my 6970 CF and going 780ti or 770 sli but then the whole mantle thing started, gcn this bottleneck that, and what happened? i got two 290's so amd better deliver LOL.;p
Go to 27:00 34:20.
They are using around 25,000 discreet objects and 3000 units on screen. With fighter squadrons with their own set of AI.
Something on PC delayed??? Next you'll tell me water is wet.
What? No way man! I knew it was true. See that, I called it
eclap, I said maybe I worded it poorly (likely on my phone), but at no time did I say people only bought a GCN card for BF4.
Ghosty, ah right.
I wasn't saying the 7 series or the R9 were not selling well, I see more and more new AMD users on here all the time, likely as you said because of the Mantle, but I still don't think they are the majority.
Mantle is the most exciting thing to happen in PC gaming for a long time, but the DX game has to be up to scratch before adding Mantle, otherwise the conspiracy theorists will be everywhere.
Nvidia has always been the first choice for most gamers as it's well known. ATI was always known for being in the shadow of Nvidia. But it's changing now that Mantel and the AMD branding of BF4, more people are starting to see AMD as a good choice, which for me is great as I never looked back after the last card I owned of Nvidia was a 8800GT.
With EA doing a lot of work on BF4 ATM it makes no sense to release mantle right now. Let DICE fix BF4 then get a nice mantle version out.
Damn these delays. Wonder what went wrong there.
This video will explain all.
Slightly exaggerated but I see the stupid management practices of EA.
I didn't say you said that. I said you said this:
you are saying only bf4 owners bought gcn cards. ^^
The first time i heard about MANTLE- was confused.....myself:
Most of the world still do not understand what is MANTLE..... own Application Programming Interface....API which is -FREE-
Well,,,....i'm not branding AMD...
Most of the world goes for OS just for harnessing the DirectX level or OpenGL ....
I'm not, I meant it was likely only a small amount of BF4 owners had bought a GCN card for Mantle.
Except the kaveri apu coming out, and increase?
I think mantle is trying to increase people for buying APU, while also let Kaveri user buy Mantle supported game, and for the game maker, they just need to give the money 1 times to support it for the engine.
What would benefit users who posess only AMD Gpu but not AMD CPU ? Is there any indication AMD cpu's will have to be present for mantle to function normally ?
