Don't you understand. Mantle gives a big performance boost if you have a midrange CPU and a High End GPU. So the "top of the line" argument is invalid.

 

Yeah!! all the investment they are doing just to lower their cpu sales...

Ok, then im gonna make my next setup with a r9 210XXX, 32Gb ram 4000Ghz and a Pentium mmx so I can really get all out of mantle!!:thumbup:

the only thing that really pisses me off is the wait time, all the delays and fake announcements of release...

Another Benchmark: This time 4770K with 290x at the resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 with maximum details, 4xMSAA, FXAA and 16x anisotropic filtering.

Radeon 290x using Mantle: 65.7 fps
Radeon 290x using DirectX: 55.4

Overall 19% faster at this configuration

Mantle doesn't only benefit low end cpu rigs ffs, learn to read. Multi gpu setups get a massive boost, even with top end cpus.

no-one seems to be talking about the "audio part" has this just been forgotten about..

p.s but i guess if it does give a ten fps boost that's pretty good.

And no one mentions the "audio part" (TrueAudio) because there is nothing to test it with yet - BF4 doesn't support it.

 

That's the map (Shangai) I'm really looking forward to with Mantle, specially when the building is destroyed!

 

Think about this too; Mantle would also help out high-end processors by freeing up how much processing power is left for other things. You could probably do some video encoding now and play BF4

 

Even if there were no improvements in framerate at all I would still prefer mantle over DirectX. (DirectX > = 11.1 Win8.1 only)

 

I really hope we'll see all the mmos use mantle in the future. Mmos are the most ridiculously cpu starved games out there, mantle could really help the genre. It's not fun to run sub 20fps in some scenarios.
