I was glad to find that the 280x WILL be supported at launch

Interesting to see the benchmarks from hardware sites, though it seems clear that high end GPUs will benefit the most from Mantle.

Apparently Dragon Age Inquisition will be released on Q3, so at least one promising game with Mantle support in 2014.

Funny thing is that post above has 2 minutes older time stamp than AMD Gaming FB actual post.

 

They deleted and re-posted due to a typo... it was "process" instead of "progress" first. I edited my post accordingly.

 

it reduces cpu overhead, so anytime you are cpu limited. the overhead of direct x has always been on the cpu, you never needed a much more powerful gpu to match console like performance (last gen 720p or less, 30 fps or less, low settings towards the end of the gen), but you did need a much better cpu and more ram.

 

Maybe they will make it and it will be released today. Just late.

Not really late for me. There's a little over 12 hours left in the day for me to make that January time frame

 

They won't make the January timeframe, they've been testing the drivers overnight, if ok, then now the press get 24hrs to evaluate them before we get them, so they'll not be released till Feb (as its the last day of Jan today, when the press are to start their 24hrs), and will be called the 14.2s.
