This tragedy would have been prevented if the thread ripper had a gun for self defense.
Whoever has the home owners insurance that will cover their PC from a malfunction hit me up. Mine says it will cover it in a loss such as it is stolen or damaged in a disaster such as a fire, flood etc etc etc. I find it extremely hard to believe a home owners insurance policy would cover your PC for malfunctioning. Isn't that what all these warranties are you can get like Square Trade etc etc etc ?
I'm not that guy with the super computer, but generally speaking it's not really simply a component failing and needing replacement. It's liquid (water) damage potentially ruining the whole PC, not just the individual component itself. Still, you could very well be right as insurance companies typically don't want to pay and try to explain themselves out of any obligation. Thus the insurance company could claim it's a different thing compared to, say, you attempting to water your houseplants but tripping and landing the watering can right on top of your PC.
So, no, I wouldn't dare say a regular house insurance would cover simply failing electronics. But if my AIO leaked and took the mobo & CPU, possibly the PSU as well along with it, I think I'd contact my insurance company and see what they'd say.
Slow news day?
just tell them lightning struck and it quit working/ same with tv's and other electronic stuff.
they have to pay.
Edit: the deductible amount will determine if it's worth it....I live in the south east US and lightning strikes happen all the time.
Well at least it's better than shooting children at school.
This is called Dark Humor
If EA see's this they will start putting Shootboxes into games.
No........tough room....i'l get me coat.
Lol bruh you'd be lucky if that old a$$ PC is worth 2 Grand right now. Original titans ? You'd be lucky to get 300 a piece.
Time to take it to the next level. This guy should get a Core i9 7980XE next and destroy it with a shotgun
lol I use it from time to time and I'm 64.
Or... Just buy Corsair AIO coolers. They will cover any water damaged parts in the event of a leak. So they say.
You don't know if this cpu had children.
It could have gone on to do great things, but it's life was taken so early... now we will never know.
It was pregnant with quadruplet Ryzens.
I too find that old/ruined components make great targets.....especially mac books.
he tried turbo to kick in.....
I shot our crap printer a bit over a year ago and it was immensely satisfying. Of course it was outside in a safe place to do such a thing. This is also a part that cost about 5% of a Threadripper (and was going to the dump anyways).
Having worked for insurance companies, and my sister still does, there is no way they will pay out if a piece of hardware you own malfunctions. This is covered by the hardware's warranty, not by you home insurance. If said hardware was the malfunction and cause a house fire then yes you will be covered as the rest of your stuff was damaged because of the fire.
Printers deserve this, they are evil. They just refuse to function.
Especially when it's HP that thinks they're the only one you should ever buy ink from (at a terrible markup).
