Hi, I was having a lot of stuttering in this game, despite the fact that framerate was high, which completely destroyed the gaming pleasure.
Now, after some testing I've found that if I change SLI compatibility bit to 0x02C00045 (Batman: Arkham Asylum) the game become super smooth with no stuttering at all.
I would like to share this, because this sli bit could help in other games that suffer from the same problem.

Naturally when the GPU and CPU are not loaded with processing the PhysX.

The stutter in mafia 2 sli don't have anything to do with physx, because I have it with physx off.
But changing the sli bits, the game is ultra smooth.
I wonder if there aren't other games that we can run smooth too, but we can't because default sli profile is subpar.

Lost about 3 FPS on the in game bench. I'll have to try some game play to see if it's any smoother. I didn't have much problem with stuttering to begin with. Just the occasional hitch loading textures.

I think he was referring to the Physx problem Mafia 2 had. By default the game installed a version of Physx drivers which processed everything on the CPU instead of the GPU. Caused massive stuttering for all

That was fixed by reinstalling that same Physx driver suite or upgrading to the new one which was released a day later.

Edit: Physx in M2 was very worthwhile IMO, but its requirements were abnormally high. I played it with the Cloth tweak :D

Mafia 2 benchmark is not very accurate because it can give different results every time you run it. It also doesn't translate the gameplay experience, it's more like a physx benchmark.
I play the game at 6000x1080 and before I changed sli profile I had lots of sutter especialy when moving the mouse around and this fixed it.

Nah i was talking about Physx in general, i never liked it. For a few hard to notice unless you zoom in effects, i don't care for physx one bit. Never did.

Thank you for the info. I revisited Mafia II a few days ago and was having a stuttering problem. The SLI compatibility bit (0x02C00045) solved it.
