^^looks like its running on cpu, check that it isnt.

Runs wicked for me, 60fps nearly all the time, physX looks brilliant aswell.

Dunno I tried again with PhysX and it was better this time. Honestly the game is crap. No buy... HUGE disapointment.

    Off to more SC2 !

and I'll still be buying this, despite having not played the demo. Though I'll be getting the box instead of the steam version (since it seems that my ISP has something to do with my inability to access steam).

Think the retail version needs Steam too though.

    WHAT :bang:

you have got to be kidding me. Wait, you're pulling my leg aren't you?

in any case, if i find out that it does need steam to run after buying it, i'll just crack it.

Did I hear someone say that the only way you can purchase this is through STEAM? On launch day will I be able to go to Bestbuy or Frys to pick it up? Because that how i do.

Well, it's blurry as all hell here, I even tried it at 1920X1440 on a 20" viewable screen, still extremely blurry. Mind posting a few outdoor screenshots? because I am almost 100% sure it's just some silly post processing like so many other ports use.

It doesn't really matter if they take you out in a couple seconds when you can just go behind cover and wait for them to stop shooting. Every cover system game I've played just has the AI shoot in patterns. I'll never understand why difficulty levels have gone so out of style either.
You can buy it anywhere like normal, it's just that the game uses Steam as it's DRM, so you will need to have it installed to play it.

Genius. Worked a treat for me. The shooting parts were much, much smoother on high PhysX. Nice find, thanks for sharing. :)

To be fair though, they have modified the police a fair amount. I love the fact that I can now shoot someone, or shoot in the air, and leave the area before a cop comes. I can't just shoot on top of a building and they're all like "Son of a bitch, it's Niko Belic again!", which always annoyed me in GTA 4. I also like the bribe system, the ticket system, and the fact that if you get in a fight with people, they will tell you to knock it off instead of arrest you, which is realistic; especially because if you do it more than twice, they'll arrest you.

Just my opinion on it though. I do dislike the citizens being alike, but maybe that's just the demo to shorten the model/sound amount.

Nobody is kidding you it will be steam-powered no matter what version you buy. I don't like it either but I made a steam account just for the demo, and downloaded Alien Swarm for free and all in all started to actually like Steam and it's interface. I'm sure that the pirated version will not require Steam though if you really want to avoid Steam at all cost. :eyebrows:

Just a quick Playboy guide, about where to find the 5 Playboys:

    1. At home, kitchen desk
    2. Gunstore one the left
    3. Distillery after kill the last thug before the fat guy (left side on crates with bottles)
    4. Dress Shop near the bar
    5. Diner at the corner where the Mission starts

    Enjoy! ;-)
